Chief Executive Chen replied, "Since Dai Tingzhi is the one presiding over this, go ahead and act freely." He himself held firm to his own judgment when directing the overall situation, but when matters were entrusted to others, he likewise gave them complete trust.
Having obtained permission, Dai Tingzhi immediately decided to loosen his restraints somewhat. He said, "Pass down the order: seal off the outermost arrays for us."
The Profound Venerable beside him was startled. "Tingzhi, if we do that, the frontal array force may not be sufficient. We may let these people draw near to us."
Dai Tingzhi said, "Even if we must loosen the inner arrays somewhat, we must find a way to seal this array. Even a few breaths will do."
The Profound Venerable said no more and immediately accepted the order.
