When he opened them again, he was standing amid a sea of clouds and mist. Raising his whisk, he lightly swept the vapors aside, and then saw a young Daoist approaching atop a ritual carriage. He laughed and took the initiative to bow. "Fellow Daoist Zhang, this humble Daoist is Chan Ming. I have been waiting here for you for quite some time."

Zhang Yu glanced at him and returned the salute.

After bowing, Daoist Chan Ming stepped back and turned sideways in invitation. "Fellow Daoist Zhang, please." With that gesture, a towering dharma tower appeared behind him.

Zhang Yu looked up, lightly flicked his sleeve, and ascended alongside him. He saw that the dharma altar was broadly divided into three tiers of steps, with many vacant seats upon them. The higher one went, the fewer empty seats there were.
