Zhang Yu looked at Daoist Qiu, who had sworn an oath on the spot, and gave a slight nod. He did not expect everyone who turned to Celestial Xia to wholly and completely uphold the Way of Celestial Xia in the depths of their hearts. Yet so long as they were willing to conduct themselves according to Celestial Xia's Dao principles and did not overstep the bounds, that was enough.
Moreover, at present he needed to unite every force that could be united against those five former sages. Thus, anyone willing to stand with them could be called a fellow traveler. Whatever conflicts might exist between them could be resolved after they had dealt with the five.
He said, "Fellow Daoist Qiu, there is no need for such ceremony."
Hearing him address him as fellow Daoist, Daoist Qiu knew that the other party had accepted him. Overjoyed, he bowed to Zhang Yu once more.
Zhang Yu nodded and said, "Fellow Daoist Qiu, sit and speak."
Daoist Qiu gave his thanks. Only after Zhang Yu had settled into his seat did he sit down himself. Then he recalled something and said, "I am ashamed. Might Qiu's actions bring trouble upon you, Fellow Daoist?"
At first, he had merely come with the attitude of giving it a try, and had prepared himself for Zhang Yu to refuse. After all, the other side might not agree to take the risk of opposing Origin Xia. But when the conversation reached that point, he instinctively felt that Zhang Yu was truly someone worthy of his allegiance, and so he immediately made up his mind and swore the oath.
Now that they were fellow travelers, however, he also had to consider the trouble he might bring the other party.
