Chen Shouzhi summoned the Tingzhi and explained the situation, then asked whether they should adopt the strategy proposed by the Upper Layer and select someone to cultivate the Chaos Dao.
For, as the Upper Layer had judged, the Chaos Dao's entry into the world was ultimately unavoidable. If so, they would rather keep the reins of this matter in their own hands. By observing such a cultivator's practice, they could gain a better understanding of the Chaos Dao and respond to every eventuality in time.
There was another issue involved. If they were to proceed thus, from where should this candidate be chosen?
By Celestial Xia's rules, they naturally would not force any disciple. Indeed, in matters concerning the cultivation of such Dao methods, coercion would accomplish nothing. If they truly intended to do this, they ought to explain the reasons and let the person make their own choice.
Nor could such a person be chosen casually. Their innate aptitude was of utmost importance; otherwise, they would not be able to seize the fortune of the Chaos Dao. Second, their will had to be exceptionally firm. If they turned into a Chaos monster the instant they began cultivating, then the entire undertaking would become meaningless.
Yusu Tingzhi put forth one requirement: this person had to possess an exceedingly steadfast Celestial Xia Dao Ideal.
This seemed somewhat contrary to the Chaos Dao, yet upon careful consideration, it made a certain kind of sense. If the Great Dao of Chaos was regarded as one kind of Dao method, why could a cultivator of the Great Dao of Chaos not possess a Celestial Xia Dao Ideal?
Moreover, was this not precisely what they were attempting this time—to see whether Celestial Xia's rules could restrain the Great Dao of Chaos and prevent it from
