Quan Councillor considered for a moment and said, "What Xiang Councillor says does make sense in principle, but what exactly do you intend to do?"
Xiang Councillor replied unhurriedly, "These Pure Spirit creatures devour one another for no more than greater knowledge and greater strength, so that they may climb to the Upper Layer. We can provide them with all of that."
He paused. "For instance, we can send them more surrogate bodies to assimilate. We can also slightly refine various precious medicines that awaken intelligence and promote growth before delivering them over. With such 'feeding,' I believe these creatures will surely halt in their tracks."
Quan Councillor nodded. "For now, we can give this a try. If it fails, we can change to another method. In any case, the situation cannot grow worse than it already is."
Guo Councillor commented, "Though the method is simple, it is workable for the present."
Xiang Councillor said, "And if it is not workable? The support the Two Halls have given me amounts to only this much, and these are the only methods I can devise. If I were granted the authority to wield a Dao-Guarding Treasure, why would Xiang need to use such a method, sending provisions to the enemy?"
Neither Quan Councillor nor Guo Councillor responded.
Though the great formation ahead was dangerous, it had not yet reached the point of collapse. Besides, before the Upper Three Worlds made their position clear, they could not offer any promises.
Quan Councillor said, "Xiang Councillor, the Two Halls can provide everything you have requested. We know you have done your utmost to devise a solution under the present circumstances, so even should it fail, we will not hold you accountable."
Xiang Councillor gave a derisive snort. "Then please make haste. If the front
