Li Bailiang shook the dirt from his back and climbed out of the mud pit. Looking at his battered outer armor, then touching the cheek that was almost exposed, he could not help but sigh.

Though he was merely a projection of power, it was a complete replication of himself. Other than his level of strength being suppressed, it was no different from his actual body being here. Every injury was real, and after more than ten days of holding the line and fighting, his outer armor had not had time to be repaired at all.

He took two steps forward and stood atop the wrecked fortress wall, gazing ahead. Several li away stood rows of cannons, with tens of thousands of troops arrayed farther behind them. Purple-green banners fluttered in the wind.

The soldiers were not human, but humanoid beings clad in hide robes, short in stature, with wrinkled gray skin.

At the center of the army formation was a tall figure riding a bulbous monster. It wore a white robe and a golden crown. Seeming to notice his gaze, it turned its deep blue eyes toward him.

Li Bailiang spat at the ground and clenched his fist. If his true body had been here, he would have swept through this army alone and hammered that evil godspawn into pulp along with it.

Of course, that was only wishful thinking. The godspawn on the other side had likely come by projection as well. If they truly fought with their actual bodies, he would most likely be no match for it.

Just then, a stone slab behind him shifted, and a voice cursed from beneath it. "Old Li, since you're not dead, what are you standing around for? Get over here and give me a hand!"

Li Bailiang turned around
