Zhang Yu knew that the Guardian's duties only involved apprehending people and engaging in battle; interrogation and investigation did not fall within his authority. Thus, he said, "Fellow Daoist Ming Zhou, simply send word upward."
Ming Zhou made a formal salute and sent his intention upward in a report. Before long, a clear light blossomed in midair, and several divine beings, each around thirty feet tall, emerged from within.
These divine beings were entirely shrouded in golden light. After descending to the ground, they all respectfully lowered their heads and clasped their fists toward Zhang Yu. The leader among them said, "Warden Wu Ren, attendant of the Profound Court, has come by order to escort Profound Venerable Zhu Ci."
It was not difficult for Zhang Yu to see that these divine beings had all been transformed from innate essence souls. Such beings were born with extraordinary powers; if placed in the mortal world, even the weakest among them could contend with a Third Chapter cultivator. However, Celestial Xia would never permit them to go to the Outer Layer. He said, "Warden Wu, take him away."
With Daoist Ming Zhou, the spirit of the Clear Vault, present, there was no need to exchange all manner of documents and seals. It was not as troublesome as matters in the inner and outer layers.
Wu Ren respectfully acknowledged the order. He strode over to Zhu Ci, who had been bound once more by the Dragon-Binding Chain, and courteously clasped his fists. "Profound Venerable Zhu, this minor deity begs your pardon."
Zhu Ci merely snorted.
Wu Ren stepped forward and pressed several talisman seals bestowed by the Profound Court onto Zhu Ci's body. Then, taking hold of the Dragon-Binding Chain, he led the man up into the sky.
