He had already repeatedly perused many of the Dao texts collected by the Profound Court. Some principles within could indeed be read and could offer him enlightenment, but only within the bounds of his own understanding and level of cultivation.
If one's Dao practice was insufficient, one's understanding would merely float upon the surface, unable to delve any deeper. Only when one's cultivation reached the proper level could one truly comprehend the meaning expressed within. The same applied to the annotations and commentaries left behind by predecessors—without entering this door, it was difficult to gain anything from them.
Now that his cultivation had reached the necessary level, he could glimpse the mysteries within.
Although the Profound Method and True Law differed, their principles were interconnected. When he had climbed the path of Dao cultivation in the past, he had gained no small amount of aid from the True Law and borrowed much from it as well.
Perhaps this was because the teacher who had introduced him to the Dao had been a true cultivator, and the first method he cultivated had also been a breathing method. Thus, he found it easy to accept such things and make them his own, with not the slightest obstacle in between.
By comparison, many profound cultivators seemed to separate the True Law and the Profound Method from the depths of their hearts. He did not approve of such an approach.
After finishing one Dao volume, he pondered for a moment before switching to another. Once he had read through all the Dao texts held by the Profound Court, he had already formed a general idea in his mind.
