Zhang Yu walked up the broad, long flight of steps and arrived before the Golden Palace gates, only to find the doors behind the massive pillars tightly shut.
He released his Heartlight Seal and gave it an exploratory push forward. Yet he encountered no resistance; instead, a hollow sensation arose, as if an abyssal sea of emptiness lay ahead, leaving nowhere to set foot.
A gleam flashed through his eyes. After observing for a moment, he understood the changes within.
Though this palace appeared before him, only an image of it was projected here. If the palace gates opened, they connected to this place; if the gates closed, the passage between the two sides was severed.
If he wished to cross over, the simplest way was naturally for the master within to open the passage. If not, then by conventional means, he would have to slowly search his way through. That might mean searching through tens of thousands of spatial layers, with no telling how much time it would consume—not to mention the unforeseen changes that might arise along the way.
There was one other method: forcing his way through.
So long as one possessed sufficient strength, one could blast through every obstacle here in a single stroke. After all, since there was a projection here, it meant that extraordinary powers connected the two sides.
Since the Golden Palace seemed to contain power close to his own level, it would ordinarily not be easy to break through, given the opponent's home-field advantage.
If the other side had been a forbidden formation, he truly would have had no immediate solution. But this was merely a clever application of spatial layers, hardly a major obstacle.
At a thought, the Void-Negating Calamity Pearl flew from his sleeve, circled once, and came before him.
