Zhou Yao could naturally tell that the friend Liu Wenjun spoke of was him.

Although Zhou Yao had intended to save Liu Wenjun, he could not help carrying a somewhat condescending savior's mindset.

Yet now, trapped in danger herself, Liu Wenjun was still thinking of his safety and did not want him to be dragged into this terrifying myth invasion as well.

That sincere concern made Zhou Yao feel somewhat ashamed of himself.

Upon hearing Liu Wenjun's words, some of the other students were moved, some displeased, and some looked on with disdain. Yet none of them took the initiative to argue against her.

After all, if they wanted to escape alive, they would most likely have to rely on Liu Wenjun. She was the only person present who understood the anomalies of the Yin Mountain Metro, and their only hope for now.

Just as everyone had rested for less than a few minutes, heavy footsteps suddenly sounded from outside the carriage.

Immediately afterward came the sound of a door to another carriage being roughly thrown open.

The footsteps drew closer and closer, each step seeming to tread upon everyone's hearts.

A voice brimming with resentment and fury rang out:

"You little bastards, why are you so damn good at running?"

Bang!

A violent impact suddenly rang out.

Then, a gaunt face abruptly pressed itself against the glass window of the connecting door, staring fixedly at everyone inside the carriage.

It was an exceedingly emaciated face, its skin stretched tightly over bone, its eye sockets deeply sunken, its cheekbones jutting high.

But the most terrifying part was its eyes. They were filled with greedy, bloodthirsty desire, like a starving beast spotting its prey.

"I gave you a chance, but you failed to cherish it." The gaunt man's voice was low
