As Yellow Wind Little Sage departed, a fourth-tier Scavenger Mythic Walker responsible for guarding the Golden Scales Pawnshop stepped out.
He was a burly young man in his twenties, his entire body knotted with muscles. Standing there, he looked like a small mountain.
He had not heard the specifics of the transaction between the two, but seeing the richly dressed old man's disheveled state and the large amount of soul fragments Yellow Wind Little Sage had taken away, indignation still showed on the burly young man's face.
Unable to hold back, he said, "Master Jin, are we really just going to watch that man take away so many soul fragments?"
His voice was filled with reluctance as he clenched his fists, his knuckles cracking loudly.
The richly dressed old man watched Yellow Wind Little Sage's retreating back, not yet having fully breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing the burly young man's dissatisfaction, he immediately snorted and berated him harshly, "Idiot!"
Though his voice was not loud, it carried immense authority.
"Those of us in the pawnbroker line fear nothing more than settling accounts after a deal is done."
The richly dressed old man raised a hand and pointed at the pawnshop's plaque.
"No matter who profits and who loses from a transaction, it must be resolved within the pawnshop. Once one steps out of the pawnshop, the transaction is complete, and no one may settle scores afterward.
"Since that guest offered information of sufficient value and we were not qualified to take it, that is naturally our problem."
"But if we vent our anger on the guest over this matter, what will our peers think of us? What will Golden Scales Headquarters think of us?"
The richly dressed old man's righteous rebuke immediately left the burly young man looking ashamed.
