As Yueling watched Wu Chu make soap with a curious look on her face, Yibao popped out as well, clamoring to join in. She extracted the soap-making method Wu Chu had once seen from his memories and displayed it on the phone.
With those materials to follow, making soap became much easier for Wu Chu and the others.
Just as they were preparing to make soap according to the instructions, the green wolf leader of the Howling Moon Wolf Clan approached them with a wild beast more than two or three meters long clenched in its jaws.
Several dozen meters away from them, the green wolf set down the beast, raised its head and gave a low growl, then turned and left.
Wu Chu looked at Yueling. "What did it say? Is it voluntarily bringing us prey?"
Little Moon Spirit glanced at the Little Wolf Cub, then nodded. "A Qiu said this is one of the gifts their clan is giving to thank A Chu for saving their lives. There will be more in the future!"
Several dozen meters away lay the beast whose neck had been bitten through by the green wolf. It looked somewhat like a wild boar, its body blackish green, with four curved tusks protruding from either side of its long snout.
Wu Chu looked at the boar whose neck the green wolf had bitten through with some distaste. What if those giant wolves carried rabies?
"A Chu, are we taking it?"
"Of course! Why turn down food delivered right to our door?"
Wu Chu suddenly thought that this might be Dang Kang, an auspicious beast of the Primordial World. It was said that wherever this beast appeared, that year would surely bring abundant harvests. But no one seemed to have said whether this divine beast tasted good. Today, he could try it himself.
As for the possible rabies virus, he simply ignored it. After all, high temperatures could eliminate that virus.
"Yueling, do you know what this beast is called?"
Yibao immediately answered, "This should be the auspicious beast Dang Kang, right?"
Yueling looked at Yibao oddly. "An auspicious beast? Why would Yibao call it an auspicious beast? I think it is a scourge!"
"Uh... why do you say that?"
Wu Chu did not understand, and neither did Yibao. She was certain the knowledge stored in her database could not be wrong. The silly little cutie was definitely just trying to contradict her.
But the clever Yibao decided to hold her position for now and observe the situation before making a move.
Yueling shook her head. "Its cry does indeed sound somewhat like 'Dang Kang.' It possesses a divine ability that allows it to easily find places rich in spiritual energy, where spiritual plants grow lush and dense. Wherever treasures grow well, it can find its way there. Within Purple Jade Mountain, its ability to locate spiritual plants can be called among the very best of all beasts."
"..."
Wu Chu and Yibao could not help looking at each other.
Though it overturned their assumptions somewhat, it actually made sense when they thought about it. Those wild boars of later generations were all exceptionally skilled at ravaging crops. By rights, their ancestor could hardly have been a good pig indifferent to crops!
Since this pig had such an ability, didn't that mean wherever it appeared would be a year of bumper harvest? No, it was clearly that wherever there was a bumper harvest, this thing would run over and wreck it!
"A Chu, is this beast tasty?"
"You've never eaten one before? It looks like it should be delicious!"
Yueling shook her head. "I have eaten it before, but raw meat and cooked meat surely taste different."
"Forget it. Let's make the soap first!" Wu Chu shook his head. "The Howling Moon Wolf Clan borrowed my strength to save themselves earlier. It's only right that they repay me with this. Don't worry about it."
After several hours, the three of them finally produced a batch of soap.
However, what depressed Yibao was that although they had created a new thing, Lord Heavenly Dao apparently did not appreciate it and bestowed no Merit upon them.
Little Moon Spirit instead let out a soft sigh of relief. She felt this was normal. If Merit were really so easy to obtain, would it not be far too cheap?
Wu Chu guessed that perhaps someone in the Primordial World had already accidentally made something like this before. They simply did not understand chemistry, so they paid it no attention and did not pass it down. Of course, it was also possible that nature itself had already produced similar saponification reactions by chance.
No matter what, with soap, keeping clean became much simpler.
Wu Chu went back to the bathing pool and took another bath. He scrubbed his greasy hair with soap several times until he felt thoroughly refreshed. But smelling the soap, Wu Chu felt that he could gather some flower petals later and make some fragrance.
Afterward, he had Little Moon Spirit wash his clothes while he went to wash the bear hides himself.
Washing clothes required controlled strength, something Little Moon Spirit could naturally manage. Scrubbing bear hides, meanwhile, could be done with all his strength. His power was not enough to tear the hides apart anyway.
With Little Moon Spirit, that little water-controlling mage, around, Wu Chu soon put on clean clothes carrying the scent of soap. Even the bear hides could be used directly as blankets.
Though his treatment of the bear hides was primitive and casual, Wu Chu was not a professional and had never worked in this field. As long as they were barely usable, that was enough.
He spread the bear hides over the large bed, using one as a rug and one as a quilt. Lying atop the fluffy hide, Wu Chu thought of one word—bliss!
Seeing Wu Chu happily roll around atop the bear hide, Little Moon Spirit said, "A Chu, your strength has improved quite a bit. How about trying to see whether you can take down that Azure Dragon..."
Little Moon Spirit gazed hopefully at Wu Chu with her adorably large eyes. Before she could finish speaking, she could not help licking her lips.
Wu Chu nearly laughed at the sight. "I don't mind slaying a dragon, but I'm afraid that with my current strength, I can't even lift your Spirit Prime Sword."
"How about A Chu tries it first?"
"Fine then. Sword, come!"
Little Moon Spirit took out the short white sword, holding it by the scabbard as she handed it to Wu Chu.
Wu Chu stretched out both hands, planted his feet firmly, and reached out to support it...
"Sorry for disturbing you!"
With his face flushed red from exertion, Wu Chu could only give up on trying the sword in embarrassment.
Seeing this, Yibao clutched her stomach and laughed so hard in midair that she nearly toppled over. Her exaggerated, trembling laughter was rather infuriating, making Wu Chu want to grab her and smack her little butt.
Yueling did not laugh at him, but the regretful look on her face hurt Wu Chu just as much. He had thought he was already a little Superman! Only after trying did he realize that he was still a useless guy who could not even lift a sword.
Seeing Wu Chu's awkward, bitter smile, Yueling composed herself and said, "A Chu, since steamed bear paw with ginseng can increase your strength, let's steam more bear paws! I estimate that after you finish this ginseng and the remaining bear paws, you will be able to wield the sword and slaughter that Azure Dragon! When that time comes..."
As Little Moon Spirit spoke, she involuntarily licked her lips again.
It was clear just how obsessed this girl was with eating that Azure Dragon.
