Geography and Features

Purple Jade Mountain is a vast territory of countless mountain ranges and peaks rather than a single summit. Its bounds are defined by the innate protective formation associated with the Purple Jade Spirit Crabapple. Flower Mountain and Hanging Dragon Peak are among its many named peaks. 389

• The Great River lies south of the formation; even traveling directly south for more than a million li only barely reaches it. 171
• Qingqiu lies to the east beyond a great marsh; the journey between Qingqiu and Purple Jade Mountain takes months even for a cultivator traveling intermittently. 3 73

History

Purple Jade Daoist's Legacy

Purple Jade Mountain was originally Purple Jade Daoist's Daoist grounds. After Purple Jade Daoist died, Yueling—then only a minor Heavenly Immortal—was its sole remaining humanoid resident. 5 335

Before Wu Chu's arrival, the Mountain Protection Array was broken and the Azure Dragon led shrimp soldiers and crab generals into the territory. The aftermath left the mountain in ruin: its great peaks had collapsed, its lake was filled in, its spiritual energy had thinned, and its earth veins had been damaged. 5 44 48

Restoration by Zhen Yuanzi

Zhen Yuanzi restored Purple Jade Mountain's damaged earth veins with the Earth Book. Over ten years, severed and scattered earth-vein power was returned to order, allowing dense spiritual energy to rise from underground once more. 87

The restoration transformed the formerly ruined land into an immortal paradise of towering peaks, secluded ravines, spiritual plants, celestial springs, waterfalls, and drifting mist. The Purple Jade Spirit Crabapple's recovery also expanded the Mountain Protection Array's coverage. 87

Growth under Wu Chu

Under Wu Chu, Purple Jade Mountain became known for its hospitality, cuisine, music, spirit brews, and cultivation environment. Its reputation spread through the Eastern Sea Dragon Court and along the Great River, attracting visitors such as Qiuniu, Chiwen, Feng Xi, Qingfeng, and Mingyue. 297 298 319

The mountain gradually developed into a home for Wu Chu's disciples, the Little Flower Fairies, spirit beasts, transformed lake creatures, and survivors or descendants connected to the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans. 379 434 657

Pangu's Revival

Pangu's revival catastrophically damaged Purple Jade Mountain when its earth vein was drawn away. Numerous surrounding peaks collapsed, the great lake dried up, and the Purple Jade Mountain God tilted until Little Fox supported him with a spell. 837

Later, the Primordial World's ascension caused mountain ranges across the land—including Purple Jade Mountain—to rise as the world's spiritual energy and scale increased. 990 1003
