The three of them laughed and joked as they headed straight for the Azure Dragon's corpse.
As for having Yibao use Merit Power to enlarge and deepen the backyard pond, it was just talk. Yibao was so stingy, and Merit Power was so precious—asking her to waste it on such a trivial matter would be worse than simply formatting her outright!
When they reached the Azure Dragon's corpse, Little Moon Spirit's body was trembling.
Wu Chu could easily imagine how she felt. When he had first arrived in this world and the old master Heavenly Dao had bestowed upon him an ocean of Merit Golden Light, he had been thoroughly frightened. At the time, it had felt as though some primordial beast was watching him, making his scalp tingle and his spine turn cold.
Little Moon Spirit's current feelings were probably much the same as his had been back then.
Yet he still could not understand why. Little Moon Spirit was, after all, a Celestial Immortal-level demon. Were Celestial Immortals really that lacking in presence?
Then again, Little Moon Spirit truly did not have much of a Celestial Immortal's bearing. Compared with the omnipotent immortals Wu Chu had imagined, she clearly did not know many things.
She did not know artifact refinement, pill refinement, or how to teach others cultivation...
But on second thought, it was not really fair to blame her for being incapable. She had not even been in Transformation Form for a full year! Compared with those later immortals who became immortal only after cultivating for hundreds or thousands of years, she had learned next to nothing, and her cultivation relied entirely on instinct.
Moreover, cultivation in the Primordial World of this era truly lacked any systematic framework. Only after the Dao Ancestor became a Saint and delivered his first sermon would cultivation gain a proper system.
So how long would it be until the Dao Ancestor gave his sermon?
Wu Chu did not dare imagine it. The Dragon Clan, Phoenix Clan, and Qilin Clan had only just been established, and the great war among the Three Clans had not even begun!
Time was not measured in years in the Primordial World, but in epochs and calamities. This calamity had only just begun—how long would he have to wait until the Dao Ancestor became a Saint and taught the Dao?
If he did not work hard and eat more, by then even the grass on his grave might have become a spirit.
"Little Moon Spirit, can you do it?" Wu Chu looked helplessly at the cold sweat beading on her forehead. "If you really can't, we can wait until next time."
Little Moon Spirit gritted her teeth. "A Chu, I'll try! Please pry open the dragon's mouth."
Wu Chu nodded slightly, took out his phone, and threw it toward the dragon's mouth. Then he shouted, "Big!" The phone expanded inside the dragon's jaws, becoming like a gigantic slab of black iron.
The iron slab forced the dragon's mouth open. Carrying the Spirit Prime Sword, Little Moon Spirit gritted her teeth and leaped into its mouth. Standing on a cloud, she floated inward through the dragon's jaws.
The wind tousled Wu Chu's long hair as if teasing him. Yibao sat on his shoulder, swinging her little legs. "I'm guessing her true form is a snake. They say snakes go limp all over when they see dragons and let themselves be slaughtered. Doesn't her behavior look like that?" Without waiting for Wu Chu to reply, Yibao continued, "A little excited, aren't you? A snake demon! Lady White! Even though humans and demons are from different paths, there are no heavenly rules restraining anyone now. Aren't you a little tempted?"
Wu Chu said expressionlessly, "This is the Primordial World. Those serpent deities of the Primordial World may not necessarily fear dragons. Your reasoning doesn't hold up."
"I'm just asking—if she really is a snake, are you tempted or not?"
"I'm not Xu Xian. My tastes aren't that heavy." Wu Chu curled his lip, then cursed resentfully, "Why do you spend all day talking about this nonsense? You know I've got nowhere to vent, yet you keep provoking me? Did A Qiu eat your conscience? If you have the time, help me work out how I should cultivate next. That's the important business!"
"Didn't we already agree that you should just cultivate step by step?" Yibao was not at all afraid of Wu Chu changing his expression and continued giggling. "If you want to vent, I can help you! There are still plenty of little movies on the phone! And that teacher you like most, you can secretly..."
"Get lost! You shameless hussy!"
Just as Wu Chu and Yibao were chattering nonsense and bickering, a blood-soaked figure floated out from the dragon's mouth. Her white teeth were bared in a dazzling smile.
Behind her, a crimson strip of flesh was being dragged out from the dragon's throat.
"A Chu, I... I did it!"
Wu Chu laughed. "Why did you drench yourself in Dragon Blood?"
"I wanted to overcome my fear of it faster, so I simply bathed in the Dragon Blood. I didn't expect this method to work so well. I'm finally not afraid of it anymore!"
Faced with the dragon's corpse, Little Moon Spirit had finally regained her usual bright and lively demeanor.
"That's wonderful! Congratulations on overcoming another hurdle. Now wash the Dragon Blood off yourself." Wu Chu smiled. "Come on, let's go back and slice dragon liver. They say nothing in heaven and earth tastes better than dragon liver and phoenix marrow. Today, we'll finally get to taste it ourselves."
As the two foodies spoke of such things, tears of sympathy were nearly impossible to suppress at the corners of their mouths.
They did not know that, far away in the Dragon Court above the Eastern Sea, after seeing this Azure Dragon's soul jade shatter, dragons had already formed a party to avenge him.
But the distance from the Dragon Court of the Eastern Sea to Purple Jade Mountain was unimaginably vast. Traveling by ordinary means, they would probably not arrive for another hundred years, perhaps even several hundred.
That was why, in the Primordial World, one should never wander around recklessly. Otherwise, if one truly died, even friends and family would have a hard time seeking revenge.
The three returned to the treetop. Little Moon Spirit tossed the chunk of dragon liver onto the ground. Although the kitchen was not small, it obviously could not hold a dragon liver two or three hundred meters long.
None of the buildings up here had formations or restrictions, so they could not expand their internal space like the clay pot.
Little Moon Spirit did not know artifact refinement, and Yibao was unwilling to spend Merit Power.
In fact, Wu Chu himself was reluctant to use it as well. He had been thinking of saving that Merit, so if he encountered someone who knew how to use Merit to improve cultivation, he could ask them for advice and raise his own cultivation.
In the Primordial World, an Innate Realm creature was no different from a little ant.
Even a small weed by the roadside was in the Innate Realm!
"A Chu, how do we slice dragon liver?"
Little Moon Spirit stood atop the dragon liver, which was over ten meters high, scratching her little head as she asked Wu Chu.
Wu Chu smiled. "It's simple. Today, I'll teach you how to eat hotpot and slice dragon liver."
They set up the clay pot outside the kitchen and lit a fire beneath it. The firewood was made from scraps of the Purple Jade Divine Tree, whose wood was exceptionally durable when burned.
Unfortunately, he had not prepared any charcoal beforehand, and it was too late to do so now.
He added water, ginger, scallions, and garlic to the clay pot. "Slice the dragon liver thinly and wash it clean. We don't have any other seasonings, so just sprinkle some salt on it. Let it marinate for a while, then toss it into the pot once the water boils. If it's ordinary food like Dang Kang liver, you can hold it with chopsticks and swish it through the broth a couple of times, because it cooks quickly."
After a pause, he added, "Hmm, later we should make a stove and fire up a kiln of charcoal to keep on hand. It'll come in useful when we eat hotpot in the future."
