Background / History
Reputation and early career
Taiyi was born into the Taiyi Sect as Sect Master Taiyuan’s son and was selected as the sect’s successor because of his rapid cultivation, exceptional Card Maker talent, and fortuitous opportunities. His siblings Taisheng and Taiqian were also prominent sect talents, though Taiyi was regarded as the most suitable successor. 208 262
In Tang Jian’s previous life, Taiyi became a legendary Card Maker who invented influential Fusion Cards and later rose to Card God-level power. In the altered timeline, Tang Jian’s early development of Fusion Cards deprived Taiyi of that original advantage. 157 190 366
Taiyi nevertheless demonstrated his own Fusion Card research by crafting a blue two-star Precognition Card containing more than thirty Pet Card brushstrokes. He stated that higher-grade Fusion Card research remained beyond his current technical ability. 242
Conflict with Tang Jian
Taiyi initially expressed interest in befriending Tang Jian after hearing of his abilities, but Tang Jian’s patents and growing reputation soon made him a direct rival. Taiyi prepared an Aura-type patent intended to counter Tang Jian and later considered calling in favors to have him eliminated. 208 249 262
After an assassination attempt against Tang Jian, Taiyi was questioned by Tiandu authorities. He was cleared because he had not registered with Hidden Kill or arranged the bounty through an intermediary; privately, he was angered that another party had acted before he could carry out his own plans. 262
At the Sect Fellowship Assembly, Taiyi publicly treated Tang Jian with courtesy and praise while the two openly acknowledged their prior hostility. Taiyi entered the scholarly competition with several blue Patent Cards, believing his preparations sufficient to secure victory. 370 371 389
Kela and the ruins scheme
Tang Jian discovered that Taiyi housed a powerful spiritual entity within his mind after observing him with the Third Divine Eye Card. The entity, later identified as Kela, had remained undetected even by conventional investigative Cards. 384 389
Taiyi and Kela maintained a mutually exploitative relationship. Taiyi intended to use Kela’s knowledge to gain an inheritance capable of accelerating his rise to Card Godhood, while Kela sought a permanent physical host. 405 413
Driven by that goal, Taiyi secretly violated the Taiyi Sect’s confidentiality agreement with the White Feather Sect by bringing outside help into shared ruins. He regarded the Card Makers he recruited to break the array as disposable sacrifices, but the group was killed by Evil God Hitler’s black smoke after opening the stone hall. 405 412 413
Later cooperation with Tang Jian
As war escalated, Taiyi chose to prioritize his personal growth over the burden of competing for the Taiyi Sect successor position. 468
Taiyi later sought a private discussion with Tang Jian and eventually disclosed a hidden small-world entrance containing a black-grade God Card connected to the War Lord. He had concealed the discovery for over three months, fearing both the War Lord’s attention and the reactions of other Card Gods, including his father. 721 767 768
Tang Jian accompanied Taiyi and Taiyuan into the ruins, destroyed the ancient temple’s guardian, and resolved the immediate crisis. He then allowed Taiyi to collect what remained, on the condition that Taiyi neither re-enter the sealed world nor reveal its secrets. 768 771
Appearance
Taiyi is described as a refined young gentleman with an extraordinary temperament. He is approximately Tang Jian’s height and habitually presents himself with a calm smile. 208 371
- Possesses a natural aura of leadership that draws others to follow him. 208
- Maintains composed expressions even when provoked or embarrassed. 371
- His outwardly gentle demeanor can disappear in private, revealing a stern and cold expression. 242
Personality
Taiyi is socially adept, polished, and highly conscious of status. He cultivates influential connections, treats capable people well, and positions himself as the center of any group he leads. 208
His public image is one of magnanimity: he habitually praises rivals, advocates reconciliation, and conceals anger behind a smile. Tang Jian, however, considers this a façade and views Taiyi as someone who schemes discreetly enough to deny wrongdoing convincingly. 366 370
Taiyi is intensely ambitious and distrustful. He is willing to conceal major discoveries from his father, breach agreements with allied sects, and sacrifice others if doing so could secure an inheritance or speed his path toward becoming a Card God. 405 412
He is also cautious when faced with threats beyond his control. Kela’s warnings about Prophecy Cards and Taiyi’s fear of the War Lord influenced him to keep dangerous secrets hidden until Tang Jian’s power made disclosure seem safer. 389 768

Kela’s Guidance
Kela is a powerful spiritual form concealed in Taiyi’s mind. Its knowledge gives Taiyi access to information about hidden inheritances and dangers, but its presence also creates a dangerous dependence. 389 405

- Informed Taiyi of the true value of the ruins’ inheritance. 405
