Life in the Far North

Ice Empress rules the Ice Jade Scorpion Clan and is one of the Far North’s Three Heavenly Kings. Ice silkworms are among her clan’s prey, making Sky Dream Ice Silkworm’s affection for her a predator–prey complication rather than a mutual romance. When he returns, she initially intends to capture him as nourishment for Snow Empress 45.

Two thousand years before meeting Bai Luo, she discovered an ancient Blood Contract method in ruins within the Far North. She originally expected never to need it 46.

Choosing Bai Luo

Sky Dream summons Ice Empress to propose his God-Making Plan: she would attach herself to Huo Yuhao as an intelligent soul ring and enter the Divine Realm when he became a god. Although immortality interests her, she doubts that the weak human can achieve it 45.

Her assessment changes after Bai Luo displays the Life Divine Seal. Recognizing its divine aura, she decides that binding herself directly to Bai Luo offers a more reliable future than joining Sky Dream’s plan. When Bai Luo declines a soul-beast Soul Ring, she encloses them in an ice castle and turns to her ancient contract technique instead 46.

She suppresses Bai Luo’s resistance, forces him to swallow her essence blood, and transfers part of her origin into his heart. Her intended equal Blood Contract would bind their souls and allow her to accompany his future ascension. The Goddess of Life intervenes and rewrites it as a Master-Servant Contract, placing Ice Empress under Bai Luo’s authority 47.

Humiliated but unwilling to abandon her chance at eternal life, Ice Empress accepts the outcome and becomes his guardian. The successful bond also produces Fortune Feedback for Bai Luo 48.

Protecting Snow Empress

With Ice Empress no longer available as Huo Yuhao’s second martial soul, she recommends the Ice Bear King, Xiaobai, and leads the group to Snow Empress. She initially conceals the humiliating terms of her own contract, but Snow Empress notices her evasiveness and makes her admit the truth 48 49.

Learning that Snow Empress has less than a twenty-percent chance of surviving her next Heavenly Tribulation, Ice Empress objects to her dangerous plan to cultivate anew as a human. Once Bai Luo offers assistance, she willingly sets aside her pride and begs him as “Master” to protect her friend 50 51.

For the reincarnation ritual, Ice Empress drives every creature out of a hundred-mile radius and places Huo Yuhao and Xiaobai with her clan. She prepares to face the resulting Lightning Tribulation herself, even at the cost of her life, before Bai Luo’s martial soul disperses the clouds 54.

After Snow Empress successfully becomes human, Ice Empress proposes that she accompany Bai Luo rather than enter human society alone. His acceptance removes much of Ice Empress’s lingering resentment toward their contract 55 57.

Life at the Clinic

Ice Empress leaves the Far North with Bai Luo and Snow Empress. Bai Luo conceals their soul-beast identities by introducing them as sisters he met during his journey. Her habit of calling him “Master” causes misunderstandings among Wang Dong, Jiang Nannan, and Huo Yun’er 57 59.

At the clinic, she develops an enthusiastic appetite for human cooking and helps Bai Luo with small daily tasks. She and Snow Empress also identify undervalued treasures at the Treasure Appraisal Fair, using Bai Luo’s funds to purchase them as a way to repay his hospitality 60 61 66.

During the subsequent ambush, she detects the assassins first and is ready to intervene, but Bai Luo resolves the danger before she needs to act. She later accompanies him in disguise to the Noble Tavern, where he meets Xu Jiujiu and interrogates the surviving assassin 67 68 71 72.

Her pursuit of immortality is pragmatic and opportunistic. She attempts to secure an equal partnership without Bai Luo’s consent, but accepts servitude when it still preserves her hoped-for route to the Divine Realm. Early on, she avoids addressing him directly because the contract makes “Master” slip out against her wishes 47 48 50.

Snow Empress’s safety outweighs her pride. Ice Empress openly pleads for help and prepares to risk her life during the reincarnation ritual.
