I Want Perfection
Trazyn looked at him but did not answer directly.
"Do you know that, Fabius?"
He said:
"I've been observing you for a long time. Much longer than you realize."
Fabius's hand paused slightly.
"Oh?"
He didn't look up, and continued shaking the test tube:
"What were observed?"
Trazyn walked to the edge of the hall and looked at the culture tanks.
"I see what you looked like when you were young."
He said:
"Back then, you were the chief Apothecary of the Emperor's Children. You stood beside Fulgrim, forging the most perfect legion for him. Back then, your eyes still shone with light."
Fabius's fingers tightened slightly.
"Then, I saw the Horus Heresy."
Trazyn's voice continued:
"I've seen your Legion fall, I've seen your Primarch fall, I've seen those around you turn mad one by one. And you—"
He turned his head and looked at Fabius:
"You're not crazy. You're just..."
He paused, searching for the right words:
"A more lucid madness."
Fabius remained silent.
The test tube slowly stopped shaking in his hand.
Do you know why?
He suddenly spoke.
Trazyn did not speak.
Because I don't care about those things.
Fabius turned around and looked at Trazyn.
In his eyes burned a light that was hard to describe:
"I don't care about the Emperor, I don't care about the Primarch, I don't care about the Chaos Gods. There's only one thing I care about—"
He held up the test tube:
"Perfect."
Trazyn looked at the liquid in the test tube.
It was some kind of gene-modifying fluid, containing unimaginable power.
"I want to create the most perfect human being."
Fabius's voice grew louder and louder:
"Not a false god like the Emperor, not a demigod like the Primarch, but a true god. Possessing boundless power, boundless wisdom, boundless—"
He paused, a glint of fanaticism flashing in his eyes:
"Perfect."
Trazyn.
Then he smiled.
"That's why I chose to cooperate with you."
He said:
"Because in this universe, only you and I truly understand the meaning of 'collecting'."
Fabius looked at him:
"Collect?"
Trazyn nodded:
"You collect genes, you collect life, you collect the possibility of evolution. I collect history, I collect artifacts, I collect the remnants of civilization."
He took a step forward:
"We are all doing the same thing—fighting against time."
Fabius fell silent.
a long time.
Tell me about your deal.
He said.
A faint green light flickered in Trazyn's eyes.
"Robert Guilliman."
He said that name.
Fabius raised his eyebrows slightly.
"The Regent of the Imperium of Man? That Primarch who was only recently resurrected?"
Trazyn nodded:
I want him.
Fabius remained silent for a moment.
Then he smiled.
The laughter carried a complex meaning—admiration, wariness, and a hint of... greed.
"You're crazy."
He said:
"That's Primarch. And the current Primarch at that. Do you think he's still the same Roge Dorn you've been targeting? His power has surpassed that of any ordinary Primarch."
Trazyn nodded:
"I know."
"You know?" Fabius's voice rose an octave. "Do you know how powerful he is now? A dual life form of the Material Universe and the Warp! The embodiment of Law of Eternity! A madman who can take on the Four Chaos Gods single-handedly!"
Trazyn remained calm.
"I know."
Fabius stared at him:
"Then you still dare to make a move on him?"
Trazyn smiled.
That smile contained confidence, madness, and a hint of anticipation.
"That's why I need you."
He said.
Fabius remained silent.
What do you want me to do?
Trazyn took a step forward:
"Create a device. A device that can shield the Primarch's spirit."
Fabius's pupils contracted slightly:
"Shield the Primarch's spirit? Are you insane? Those are Primarch! Their willpower is strong enough to resist the temptations of the Chaos Gods!"
Trazyn nodded:
"That's why I came to you. If anyone else in this universe could do this, it would be you."
Fabius fell silent.
He was thinking.
As the chief Apothecary of the Emperor's Children, he has been researching the secrets of the Primarch for over ten thousand years.
He understood the structure of those demigods better than anyone else, and he knew their weaknesses better than anyone else.
Theoretically speaking, it's possible.
It's only a possibility.
"I need samples."
He said:
"Pure genetic samples. The more the better."
A glint flashed in Trazyn's eyes:
"Roge Dorn."
Fabius paused for a moment:
"What?"
Trazyn stretched out his hand, and a faint green light gathered in his palm.
Within that light, a golden figure emerged—it was Roge Dorn, who had been sealed within the Stasis Field.
"I can let him work for you temporarily."
Trazyn said:
"You can study his body, his genes, every drop of his blood."
Fabius's breathing became rapid.
That was a true Primarch.
The living Primarch.
Not a clone, not a replica, but the true, complete Primarch created by the Emperor himself.
If he could study Dorn —the genetic information he could obtain would be invaluable.
"Can you control him?"
His voice carried a hint of doubt:
"That is the Primarch. Even though you sealed it away, its will still exists."
Trazyn nodded:
"So I need your device. You create something that can temporarily suppress his will, allowing him to obey simple commands. Then—"
A cold glint flashed in his eyes:
"Use him to fight Guilliman."
Fabius was stunned.
Using Dorn to fight Guilliman?
Two Primarch?
"You're crazy."
He murmured:
"You're really crazy."
Trazyn smiled:
"This is the only way. Guilliman is too strong, so strong that no Necrons army can get close to him. But what if the opponent is his brother—"
He paused:
"He might hesitate for a moment."
Fabius remained silent.
He was weighing the pros and cons.
Dorn's genetic information.
Guilliman's genetic information.
Pure samples of the two Primarch.
This is something he's always dreamed of.
