The First New Son
Water droplets dripped from the ends of her hair, her voice trembling slightly with excitement and lingering fear.
"Father! I have completed my transformation!"
We are ready to continue conquering the Milky Way for you at any time, sweeping away all enemies!
Guilliman looked him over with satisfaction.
Calgar, whose hair had been slightly gray and sparse due to years of hard work, now had become thick and dazzling, regaining its pure gold color, as if woven by sunlight;
The wrinkles around his eyes and the marks of time have disappeared; his skin is firm, and his muscle lines seem to contain explosive power.
He looked as if he had returned to his peak state of being in his early thirties, but the wisdom and commanding presence between his brows were even more profound.
Guilliman could clearly sense that the new, same-origin power within Calgar was flowing steadily and powerfully, perfectly merging with the Vitruum Smart Atoms.
"Very good, Calgar!"
Guilliman's voice was filled with pride:
You have never disappointed me!
You are the first of all the offspring to awaken and the fastest to adapt among those who have completed the new modifications!
"He is indeed excellent."
A familiar figure, accompanied by a slight buzzing sound and the smell of engine oil, "slipped" out of the shadows behind Guilliman.
On Belisarius Cawl's complex mechanical body, several robotic arms were leisurely tidying up data cables, and electronic eyes were flashing.
"How are you feeling, our 'young' Chapter Master?"
Cawl's synthesized voice carried a distinct, human-like sarcasm. "A brand new ' Sons of Guilliman ' gene, with top-notch fusion."
You are expected to experience a significant leap in physical fitness, reaction time, and recovery ability.
Oh, by the way, the surgery was a success, and you're still your father's 'good son'."
He emphasized the word "son," a mischievous glint flashing in his electronic eyes.
You old brute!
Calgar chuckled inwardly, the terrifying memory of the "sex reassignment surgery" joke he'd made before losing consciousness becoming crystal clear, making him both angry and amused.
He grinned, revealing a "kind" smile, thinking: I'll definitely find a chance to let you experience the feeling of "surprise" later...
With that thought in mind, he subconsciously took a step in Cawl's direction, intending to go over there first.
However--
He simply had a thought and wanted to walk over; his legs didn't even bend or exert much force.
His entire body suddenly shot out as if launched by an invisible slingshot, flying smoothly and swiftly through the air at low altitude!
It wasn't running, it wasn't jumping, it was more like being driven by one's own will, gliding through the air!
"Wow?!"
Calgar himself cried out in surprise, wanting to stop, but his control over his new body was far from perfect.
On the other side, Cawl was clearly surprised that Calgar was so "energetic" right after leaving the incubation chamber, and even had mastered "drifting".
He had just raised one of his mechanical arms as if to say hello when he saw a golden, wet figure radiating an astonishing amount of bio-heat hurtling toward him!
Clang!!!!!!
A solid, teeth-grinding thud as metal collided!
Calgar crashed solidly and entirely into the body of Cawl, a body constructed of ancient alloys, precision machinery, and heavy armor!
The impact of that new force far exceeded expectations, Cawl's heavy body had no time to make any effective buffering.
Like a pile of scrap metal struck by a charging Rhino at full speed, it was lifted off the ground, spun around, and tumbled backward at high speed as it flew away!
Clang! Crash! Crack!
Cawl knocked over a whole row of sophisticated instruments flashing with data streams, and knocked over several storage tanks containing unidentified biological samples or solutions.
Various parts, cables, glass shards, Dataslate, and bubbling liquid were scattered all over the floor.
Finally, they stopped amidst a pile of ruins and debris.
Several robotic arms were still swinging unconsciously and twitching, emitting intermittent electronic beeps such as "beep... warning... structural damage..."
As for Calgar himself, he hovered steadily about half a meter in the air in front of where Cawl just stood.
He looked down and saw that there was nothing beneath his feet.
He looked up again and saw Cawl, amidst the chaos in the distance, sparking electricity as he struggled to pull out one of his parts embedded in the wall.
Finally, he raised his hands in disbelief and clenched them into fists.
Its touch is incredibly sensitive; a surge of power roars and surges through its muscles and bones, as if a gentle squeeze could mold fine steel into dough.
What excited him even more was that he was still suspended in mid-air!
With just a thought, one can defy gravity and float freely in the air!
"This... this is..."
Calgar's voice became hoarse with extreme excitement.
Guilliman flew up and patted Calgar's wet shoulder.
His smile was as radiant as the stars of Macragge.
"The ability to fly is one of the most direct manifestations of the power you inherited from me."
Your adaptation speed has exceeded my expectations.
The Smart Atoms within you are resonating with your will; this is just the beginning.
Calgar slowly and tentatively controlled himself to fall back to the ground, feeling the boundless power within him, as if it could tear mountains apart, surging through his veins.
He didn't even feel like he used much force in that impact.
He sent the Belisarius Cawl, known for his sturdiness and weight, flying like a rag doll...
This power increase is probably more than three times!
Moreover, he can fly!
Real, unrestricted flight!
He suddenly raised his head, his eyes burning with an unprecedentedly fervent fighting spirit and an unbreakable loyalty.
Possessing such power, coupled with the all-encompassing tactical revolution brought about by flight capability...
He now even has the strong confidence to challenge those legendary, unapproachable Adeptus Custodes stationed in the Throne World!
"For the Emperor! For Guilliman!"
Calgar knelt on one knee again, his voice resounding, as if it could pierce steel, "Father, please give the order!"
I can't wait to use this newfound power to clear away all obstacles for you!
Guilliman helped him up with a sense of relief, his gaze seemingly piercing through the palace walls and seeing into the not-too-distant future.
How will his newly transformed blue warriors, soaring through the stars, reshape the order of the Milky Way?
"Soon, my son, very soon."
As Guilliman spoke, he turned to look at Cawl, who was still complaining, "Oh dear... my gyroscope..." and couldn't help but burst into laughter:
"But first, we need to help our dear Belisarius Cawl... pry himself out of the wall and clean up his laboratory."
