"How... how was this possible?!"
His incredulous cry went unnoticed amid the crowd, because too many people were crying out in shock.
The crowd erupted into chaos and uproar. Everyone was utterly stunned.
"They... they withdrew their troops?!"
"Cunning Rabbit defeated the Mechanical God Cult??"
"What kind of joke is this? What do you mean he forced back the Mechanical God Cult all by himself? Do they take us for idiots?"
"Fake news! It has to be fake news! That damned Cunning Rabbit is trying to use fake news to quell public anger. We can't let him get away with it!"
After the shock came anger. Everyone felt as though Cunning Rabbit had repeatedly ground their intelligence into the dirt.
This was war—a war between Apocalypse Corporation and the Mechanical God Cult. Before the Great Cataclysm, it would have been equivalent to a war between two small countries.
Since when could a war between nations be won by just one person?
Just as public outrage swelled and the demonstrations grew fiercer,
news began playing on the screens lining every major commercial street.
The news anchor beamed excitedly as she announced to the camera,
"Residents of Dawn City, we... have won!"
"According to reports from our frontline correspondents, the Mechanical God Cult has withdrawn its troops. Here is footage recorded at the front."
The scene changed, revealing Satellite City No. 2, completely intact. On the city walls, the soldiers were jubilant, their faces filled with the joy of surviving a disaster after the war's end.
Next came photographs of the Iron Hub Sanctuary, reduced to ruins.
"Lord Thunder Eel, as one of the Zodiac and one of the commanders in this operation, could you please explain in detail how this war was won?"
A man with an afro appeared on screen.
