"Give the god back to me!!" Xiaolong struggled to his feet, veins bulging like earthworms as wisps of black mist seeped from his body.
An Xiaotong's face showed pity. "This is an Evil God. You've been deceived by it."
"Don't you slander the god!" Xiaolong roared. "The god saved me from the Abyss! The god gave me a new life! You blasphemers all deserve to die!"
Bai Ye stroked his chin as he studied Xiaolong. At last, he understood why so many people had believed in Evil Gods fifty years ago.
Evil Gods might be bad, but when something happened, they really did help people.
As for how they helped?
He understood the trick behind it all too well. The Abyssal God's goal was to make people fall into the abyss of their own hearts.
If he and An Xiaotong had not appeared, Xiaolong would have killed his parents. Once he regained his senses, he would have fallen into an even deeper abyss of despair and been firmly controlled by the Abyssal God.
Suddenly, Xiaolong, having recovered somewhat, charged forward again.

Bai Ye backhanded him across the face, sending him flying.
"Xiaolong!!" His mother cried as she ran toward him. Her entire body trembled, yet she still spread her arms and shielded Xiaolong behind her.
"Don't hurt my son!"
An Xiaotong once again felt a deep sense of helplessness. She possessed great power, yet sometimes power alone could not carry out justice. It could even deepen the harm.
"How noisy." A crystalline blue light flashed through Bai Ye's eyes.
Xiaolong and his mother froze for a second before bursting into tears of joy.
Xiaolong repeatedly kowtowed to Bai Ye. "Thank you, God, for saving my mother and me!"
Such a dramatic change left even An Xiaotong stunned
