Chen Xin nodded at Ning Fengzhi's words and took a step forward.
He used Soul Power to hold Ning Rongrong in place. The force was not strong, but Ning Rongrong could not break free and could only be dragged along.
With his one remaining arm, he grabbed Oscar by the back of the neck and hauled him off the ground like a dead dog.
Oscar's feet scraped two tracks across the floor. He forced out a few whimpers. "Sword Douluo, I'm perfectly fine!"
"Whether you're fine or not, we'll only know after an examination," Chen Xin said.
If Ning Rongrong had a problem, they would definitely have known long ago. They would not have waited until now to check. Did the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect keep a bunch of freeloaders?
That meant Oscar was the only one with a problem.
Ning Rongrong was pushed forward. She looked back at Oscar, her lips moving without making a sound.
She was filled with worry for Little Ao, yet she also understood the importance of the Nine-Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda's inheritance. She could only pray that there was nothing wrong with Oscar's body and that it could be resolved.
This era placed extraordinary importance on descendants. If the man's line were cut off...
Ning Fengzhi had put it politely: "cut off all hope."
If it truly came to that, Chen Xin's Seven Kill Sword would leave its sheath, and Oscar would not even get the chance to beg for mercy.
As Oscar was dragged over the threshold, the wooden edge dug into his back. He sucked in a breath from the pain, only to see a chill filling Chen Xin's profile.
"Sword Douluo..."
Chen Xin ignored him, tightening his grip another fraction.
Within the heavenly screen, Yin Hongye stood on the arena and watched beams of holy light descend.
Holy Spirit Douluo Yali was treating those students. Her Martial Soul was the Prayer Angel. Holy light rained down upon the seven of them, gentle and warm, carrying the breath of life.
Yet when that light landed on them, it had little effect.
Fine sweat seeped from Ya Li's temples. She had treated many people, but those injured by Yin Hongye were the most troublesome.
Qian Renxue stared at Ya Li's Martial Soul and was slightly dazed. Such pure holy aura, and even the power of faith.
The Soul Rings beneath her feet were an even more terrifying configuration: six black and three red.
Twenty thousand years ago, aside from people who had undergone a Divine Examination, who could have possessed such an outrageous configuration?
Yet in this era, the Soul Ring configurations of all high-level Soul Masters were extraordinarily absurd.
"Surprised? She is hailed as the fastest person in Douluo Continent's history to rise from seven rings to nine rings. From a seven-ring Soul Sage to a nine-ring Titled Douluo, she only spent one year asleep."
Mu Hongchen explained to Qian Renxue, "About fifty years ago, a massive plague broke out in the Federation. In just fifteen days, she traveled through fourteen provinces across the continent before falling into slumber. She also gathered an immense amount of faith power, which led to her achievements today."
Outside the heavenly screen, Qian Daoliu stared blankly at Holy Spirit Douluo Yali. With such pure faith power, she might very well become a god in this era.
"This talent... Could she be a descendant of my Angel Clan? A healing-type Soul Master? I wonder whether our era has anyone like that."
Qian Daoliu ordered the younger members of his clan, "Go inspect the children in the clan who awakened their Martial Souls this year. See whether there are any Soul Masters with this kind of Martial Soul. If there are, ensure that the faith of angels spreads throughout the continent."
"If there aren't, have those boys of marriageable age find healing-type Soul Masters as partners. It has to awaken eventually."
Ya Li's right hand gently stroked Tang Yinmeng's head. Strands of radiance spread from her body, and a petite angel emerged behind her. The angel had three pairs of wings. With a gentle flap of its six wings, it transformed into a mass of golden light and entered Tang Yinmeng's body.
After a full half hour, Long Yeyue in the stands could no longer endure it. Lan Muzi was, after all, her nominal disciple. Yin Hongye was not merely slapping Shrek Academy in the face; he was slapping her in the face as well.
"These students are in terrible condition. Even without using Soul Power or his Martial Soul, Yin Hongye's pure killing intent has caused severe damage to their brains."
"The human brain and soul are both the most complex things. I'm not completely certain that she can fully recover..."
Ya Li finally spoke, anxiety still lingering in her eyes. Faced with Yin Hongye's pure killing intent, these people simply could not withstand it.
They were all Soul Sages, after all. Once Soul Power reached this realm, their spiritual power should have increased greatly.
Hearing this, Long Yeyue leaped from the stands. She jumped directly from dozens of meters up, her body crashing down into the center of the arena like a falling meteor.
The ground cracked, rubble flew everywhere, and the shockwave scattered some of Ya Li's holy light.
"Yin Hongye, you injured disciples of Shrek Academy. What do you take Shrek Academy for? A place you can come and go from whenever you please?"
Yin Hongye had just been about to leave. Looking at Long Yeyue, he was speechless and tilted his head to glance at her.
"Isn't this an old fossil from two eras ago? You have Twin Martial Souls, yet you still aren't even a Quasi-God."
He knew very clearly that Ghost Emperor, Nether Emperor, and Chen Xinjie were all Quasi-Gods. Which one of them was not stronger than Long Yeyue?
If Heaven's Favor Douluo had not died so early, Yin Hongye thought he could have chatted with him for a while. Whether that man's heart could handle it, though, was another matter.
Long Yeyue's mouth twitched. This Yin Hongye truly did not want to speak with her. She immediately threw a punch.
The fist wind tore through the air with a piercing shriek, like a high-speed train crashing head-on. She had used her full strength in this punch—the full strength of a level ninety-nine Limit Douluo. The protective barrier around the arena had not even risen before the pressure from her fist crushed it apart.
Yin Hongye did not dodge. He raised his right hand, palm facing outward, and caught the punch.
Bang—!
The sound was muffled, like a war drum booming. A ring-shaped shockwave exploded outward, knocking over rows of students in the stands.
Ya Li led the students away from the stands, while Yun Ming's white trench coat was blown tight against his body.
Yin Hongye's feet slid back half an inch, plowing a shallow trench into the ground.
"Light-Dark Douluo, your Limit Douluo title seems to have quite a bit of water in it!" He did not care. Yun Ming absolutely would not intervene. No matter how many others came, he would fight them all.
At that moment, three figures moved at once.
Silver Moon Douluo Cai Yue'er swept in from the left, Red Dragon Douluo Zhuo Shi charged from the front, and Blazing Dragon Douluo Feng Wuyu circled around from the right.
Zhuo Shi's Scarlet Dragon Fist arrived first. Crimson dragon flames wrapped around his fist, scorching the air with a burnt stench.
Feng Wuyu's Blazing Dragon Claw followed close behind. Its claw edges tore through the air with a piercing shriek.
Yin Hongye looked at the two dragons as though he were looking at strays by the roadside.
Only when the fist wind reached his face did he raise his right hand. A long spear appeared out of thin air, crimson from end to end. Its spearhead was shaped like a flaming trident and adorned with a burning crimson tassel. Golden flame patterns covered the shaft, while its blade gleamed coldly with intense killing intent.
He swept the spear sideways.
Zhuo Shi and Feng Wuyu's Martial Souls were directly suppressed. The two flew straight away like kites with their strings cut, crashing into the wall beneath the stands.
Cai Yue'er's figure flashed through the spear shadows as she released her Silver Moon Martial Soul. Moonlight poured down like mercury.
Yin Hongye planted the spear into the ground. Using a weapon against Cai Yue'er would have been a waste.
In an instant, he appeared before Cai Yue'er. Crisp slaps rang throughout the arena.
Five in a row, like drumbeats, each one clearly spaced. Cai Yue'er's body spun halfway through the air before the final slap sent her flying sideways.
The camera nearby captured the entire scene without missing a thing.
Long Yeyue could no longer endure it either and donned her Four-Word Battle Armor: Yin-Yang Vastness.
"Brat, don't go too far. Do you really think you're invincible and can look down on everyone?"
Yin Hongye sneered. "At least I can exchange a few moves with a fraudulent level ninety-nine like you."
As he spoke, his eighth Soul Ring lit up.
