Saint Daili felt it most clearly. She could sense that the God of Light was right beside her.
Duke frowned. "Would everyone else be able to sense it like you can? If they all can—"
If every follower of the Light Church could sense the Divinity within him like this, wouldn't he be like a giant lightbulb, visible at a glance wherever he went?
"This really is a problem." Daili understood what Duke meant and realized how conspicuous it would be.
Duke had only just received the inheritance of the God of Light. His actual strength was still far from that of the God of Light.
Although only followers of the Light Church would feel it so strongly, there was no guarantee that every follower would remain loyal forever.
And even if they were not followers, anyone strong enough would sense something unusual upon approaching Duke.
Just as Duke was considering how to solve the problem, the Divinity of the God of Light seemed to understand his intent.
The white orb of light in Duke's mind suddenly stirred, then concealed all its aura, no longer giving off even the slightest trace of that powerful higher-order presence.
Even within his mind, the orb seemed not to exist. Not even Duke himself could sense the Divinity's presence.
Daili, standing beside him, did not know what had happened, but she could clearly sense the change.
She discovered that the intense aura of the God of Light around Duke had vanished in an instant. Not even a trace remained, as though everything just now had been nothing more than her imagination.
"Try sensing it carefully again," Duke said, intending for Daili to give it another try.
Daili obediently concentrated on sensing it, only to find that she could no longer detect anything at all.
