Ch. 1Coup d'état, The Death of Shisui

Uchiha Natsuki returned to Konoha as Shisui’s death and the Uchiha coup plot approached, then received a system mission to rescue Shisui. At the clan meeting, the Uchiha elders argued over worsening tensions with the village, and the Hawk faction pressed Fugaku to act.

  • Natsuki rushed back to Konoha, completed his mission, and received the Strongest Faction System’s order to rescue Shisui in exchange for Mangekyō Sharingan eye power.
  • The system appointed Natsuki Acting Elder, giving him some influence over Uchiha Fugaku’s decisions.
  • Natsuki assessed the clan’s worsening isolation and concluded that Shisui’s death could leave him in danger and push him to defect.
  • An Anbu reported the Uchiha gathering to Hiruzen Sarutobi, who hoped Fugaku would avoid a crisis and counted on Shisui.
  • At the clan meeting, the Fourth Elder warned that complaints against the Uchiha Military Police Force were worsening relations, while Uchiha Takuya demanded power and dismissed concerns about a coup d’état.
  • Most clan members supported Takuya’s call for action as Fugaku remained silent and Shisui was absent.

Ch. 2Rescue Shisui

Natsuki rescued Shisui from the Naka River after Root tore out his eyes, then protected him and Izumi from a Root squad with Susanoo. As Fugaku assembled the Uchiha combatants for battle, he waited for Natsuki to return.

  • Natsuki interrupted the Clan Hall meeting to tell Fugaku that Shisui was being hunted, then led Akira, Kōto, Yuta, and Izumi to search for him.
  • Natsuki's group pulled Shisui from the Naka River, and Izumi stabilized him despite his severe injuries and missing eyes.
  • Natsuki claimed Mangekyō Sharingan ocular power and gained access to Susanoo after saving Shisui.
  • Four Root members attacked the Uchiha group, and their captain tried to kill Shisui with an explosive attack.
  • Natsuki shielded Shisui and Izumi with Susanoo, revealing his Mangekyō Sharingan to the Uchiha.
  • Fugaku ordered Uchiha Takuya to assemble the clan's combatants, then held off on giving the order until Natsuki returned.

Ch. 3A Rebellion as Leverage

The Uchiha Clan mobilized to search for the missing Uchiha Shisui, prompting the Third Hokage to surround their compound and prepare for a possible coup. Uchiha Natsuki arrived with Shisui and Root corpses, accusing Danzo of stealing Shisui’s Sharingan as the assembled clans turned suspiciously toward Danzo.

  • The Third Hokage declared Konoha under emergency status and ordered its shinobi forces to surround the Uchiha Clan Compound.
  • Hiashi led Hyuga fighters toward the compound and warned Hizashi not to take the lead if fighting began, while Danzo ordered his own people to join the confrontation.
  • Fugaku led hundreds of armed Uchiha out of the compound and said they had gathered to search for the missing Shisui; he accused Danzo of being involved in Shisui’s disappearance.
  • Natsuki arrived with Shisui on a stretcher and the corpses of Root Members, then accused Danzo of taking Shisui’s Sharingan.
  • Shisui said Danzo had summoned him and seized his Sharingan, causing the assembled shinobi to erupt in suspicion toward Danzo.

Ch. 4Countermeasure (Part 1)

Natsuki and Fugaku confronted Danzo after Shisui was found, forcing the Third Hokage to respond to Danzo’s theft of Shisui’s Sharingan. Danzo was stripped of his position as Hokage Assistant and exposed before Konoha’s clans, who turned against him.

  • Danzo claimed Shisui had tried to assassinate him, while Natsuki and Fugaku insisted Danzo had taken Shisui’s Sharingan.
  • Natsuki threatened to become a Konoha Rogue Ninja and warned the other clans that their bloodlines and secrets could be seized next.
  • The Uchiha demanded Shisui’s eye back and threatened to perish alongside Konoha, prompting the Third Hokage to strip Danzo of his position as Hokage Assistant.
  • Natsuki declared that Shisui’s eye was in Danzo’s right eye, and Danzo revealed the Sharingan beneath his bandages.
  • The other ninja clans reacted with outrage and hostility toward Danzo.

Ch. 5Countermeasure (Part 2)

Uchiha Natsuki forced Danzo to admit he did not have Shisui’s Left Eye, while Shisui recovered his Right Eye and the Uchiha dispersed without escalating the confrontation. Afterward, the Hyuga elders warned Hiashi about the Hokage loyalists and agreed to support the Uchiha if they sought greater rights.

  • Uchiha Itachi stood beside Shisui as Natsuki demanded that Danzo reveal where Shisui’s Left Eye was, and Danzo denied having it.
  • Shisui confirmed the returned eye was his Right Eye, transplanted it back, and fell asleep; Itachi reflected on Fugaku’s support for him.
  • The Third Hokage promised to deliver Shisui’s Left Eye before dawn, and Fugaku took the Uchiha back to their compound as the village’s emergency state ended.
  • The other clans left wary of Danzo and the Hokage loyalists, while the Third Hokage and his faction faced a loss of credibility.
  • Hiashi consulted the Hyuga elders, who urged vigilance toward the Hokage loyalists and proposed supporting the Uchiha if they sought greater rights.
  • Hiashi agreed to speak with Fugaku the next day.

Ch. 6Eye That Glimpsed the Future

Natsuki revealed his Mangekyō Sharingan and used fabricated visions of the future to dissuade Fugaku and the elders from rebellion and turn Itachi and Shisui toward the clan. He left the Uchiha leaders questioning their pursuit of the Hokage position and focused on preserving their family.

  • Fugaku asked whether Natsuki had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, and Natsuki revealed his new eyes.
  • Fugaku appointed Natsuki Vice Clan Head and said he would eventually succeed him as Clan Head.
  • Natsuki claimed his Mangekyō technique, Heaven's Gap, could glimpse the future, then used Fugaku's Illusionary Realm to show Fugaku and the two elders visions of the coup failing, the clan's extermination, and Konoha's destruction.
  • Natsuki showed Itachi and Shisui a fabricated future in which Itachi massacred the clan, Sasuke died, and Konoha abandoned them, shifting both men's loyalties toward the Uchiha.
  • Natsuki argued that the Uchiha had to protect their family before seeking recognition from Konoha, and the others considered his words.

Ch. 7Plan

Natsuki used the Uchiha Clan’s new faction template and his visions of the future to plan economic independence and a retreat from the Police Force. The clan prepared to stage a rebellion and devastating loss to undermine the Uchiha Threat Theory, while Itachi and Shisui agreed to help; Itachi also asked Izumi to share dumplings with him.

  • Itachi admitted that he had been giving intelligence to the Third Hokage, and Fugaku told him to leave the Anbu and return to help the clan.
  • Natsuki inspected the faction template, assessed clan members’ talents, and persuaded Fugaku and the elders to prepare for future disasters by developing the clan’s economy.
  • Natsuki ordered the clan to relinquish Police Force authority, suspend members with complaints, and gather dissatisfied radicals for a staged rebellion and devastating loss.
  • Shisui revealed his Kotoamatsukami, and Itachi gave him the bottle containing Shisui’s left Sharingan so he could recover.
  • Natsuki warned Itachi that someone had altered the Shrine Secret Stone and would cause turmoil in the future.
  • Itachi found Izumi waiting outside and invited her to eat Three-Color Dumplings with him the next day.

Ch. 8Arrangement

Danzo reluctantly gave up a Sharingan after losing Shisui’s left eye, while Uchiha Yohei suspended most of the Uchiha Police Force members accused of violent conduct. At a meeting with the Third Hokage and Hyuga Hiashi, Fugaku and Natsuki offered the Hyuga Clan positions in the Police Force, leaving Natsuki intent on making the Hyuga share the Uchiha’s blame.

  • Danzo ordered a Root member to hand over one of the remaining Sharingan to satisfy the Third Hokage’s demand.
  • Yohei suspended most Uchiha Police Force members who had drawn complaints and reassigned the remaining officers to guard Uchiha property.
  • Fugaku brought Natsuki to a meeting with the Third Hokage and Hiashi, where Natsuki explained the Police Force reforms.
  • Natsuki asked the Hyuga Clan to provide personnel to fill the Police Force vacancies, stunning the Third Hokage and Hiashi.
  • Hiashi welcomed the opportunity despite suspecting a scheme, while Natsuki privately resolved to make the Hyuga Clan share the Uchiha’s blame.

Ch. 9The Fourth Elder's Delight

Uchiha Yohei handled complaints about the absent Police Force and enforced the Vice Clan Head’s new rules, while Obito and Mist Village tried to make sense of events in Konoha. The chapter left Ao heading back toward Konoha to investigate and seek an opportunity to capture the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki.

  • A Root member used Wind Style to spread a fire at Kiyomizu Izakaya after a controlled drunkard set it alight, leaving the entrance charred and the owner furious at the absent Police Force.
  • The izakaya owner learned that the Ninth Guard Team had been suspended after he had previously complained about its members, and Yohei refused to let him withdraw that complaint.
  • Yohei enjoyed handling complaints under the Vice Clan Head’s new rules, while Obito secretly observed the Uchiha compound and remained unsure of Fugaku’s intentions.
  • The First Elder ordered Ao to investigate Konoha and capture the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki if an opportunity arose, so Ao gathered his team and set out.

Ch. 10Recognition

Natsuki’s plan to suspend most Uchiha Police Force members left Konoha’s streets without their usual patrols while the Hyuga Clan prepared to take over. As the Uchiha watched merchants struggle without them, Fugaku recognized that the withdrawal gave the clan members an outlet to vent and was only the beginning of Natsuki’s plans.

  • Root Organization stirred up trouble across Konoha, and the Uchiha Police Force refused to respond after suspending most of its personnel.
  • The Third Hokage learned that the Hyuga Clan needed a week to assume the Police Force’s patrol duties, so he ordered the Anbu to monitor the streets and intervene if incidents became serious.
  • At the training grounds, Uchiha Haruki heard from Oura and Rikuto that Kiyomizu Izakaya had been burned after a fight, while merchants complained that no Uchiha were available to help.
  • Natsuki used the Faction Template to identify Uchiha Keimei and other clan members with business, research, logistics, and management talents for his plan.
  • Fugaku told the elders that Natsuki had withdrawn the Uchiha to give them an outlet to vent, and said more places would need the clan afterward.

Ch. 11Hyuga of the Police Force

The Hyuga Clan took over the Police Force and initially won praise for handling disputes gently, but Natsuki showed Itachi that clan-backed residents could still provoke the same problems the Uchiha had faced. After watching Hyuga Gasshin lose his temper and use force, Itachi better understood Natsuki’s view of the Uchiha Clan’s position in Konoha.

  • After merchants complained about Konoha’s poor security, the Third Hokage pressured the Hyuga Clan to take over the Police Force ahead of schedule.
  • Hizashi Hyuga assigned Branch Family members to the Police Force and instructed them to enforce the law gently, earning praise from residents.
  • Natsuki and Itachi discussed the Uchiha Clan’s need for a sense of belonging and the limits of its influence while it remained confined to Police Force duties.
  • Natsuki and Itachi watched Hyuga Gasshin mediate a dispute between a Yamanaka-connected resident and a man from Shimura Danzō’s clan.
  • After the drunk man insulted him and attacked him, Hyuga Gasshin struck his acupoints, leaving him injured and threatening to file a complaint.
  • Itachi recognized that the Hyuga faced the same clan-backed pressure the Uchiha had endured, and Natsuki explained how impartial enforcement had helped keep the Uchiha from gaining trust and political influence.

Ch. 12Byakugan's Visual Range

Natsuki sent business-minded Uchiha civilians out of Konoha as Ao led Mist Village ninja into the village's outskirts. After Morisuke Hyuga died protecting his patrol and firing a warning flare, Kakashi identified the attackers as likely from Mist Village and went to report to the Third Hokage.

  • Natsuki prepared recipes and business proposals and quietly sent talented Uchiha civilians out of Konoha.
  • Ao used his Byakugan to guide seven Mist Village elites around Hyuga patrols and launch a surprise attack.
  • Zabuza killed Yusuke Kobayashi, and the Mist ninja killed two more chunin as Morisuke discovered their Chakra signatures.
  • Morisuke fought Zabuza, then sacrificed himself to fire a warning flare before dying from his wounds.
  • Kakashi and two Anbu examined the scene, suspected Mist Village involvement, and Kakashi went to report to the Third Hokage.

Ch. 13Lack of Manpower

After a Mist Village attack exposed a weakness in the Hyuga Clan’s Byakugan patrols, Natsuki explained the flaw to Fugaku and predicted that the Hyuga would seek Uchiha help. He began preparing for that request while deciding the Uchiha should not take on the burden again.

  • The Third Hokage summoned Hizashi after hearing that Mist Village shinobi had ambushed a Police Force squad, while Danzo again proposed placing Root members in the Police Force.
  • Natsuki told the recovering Shisui to stay home and let the attack’s consequences unfold, then learned the details from Uchiha Yōya.
  • Natsuki deduced that Ao could have exploited the Hyuga Branch Family’s blind spot and said the Hyuga would come asking for Uchiha assistance, though the Uchiha would not get involved again.
  • Natsuki summoned Fugaku and explained how the Caged Bird, Byakugan range, and limited Hyuga manpower had contributed to the failed patrol.
  • Natsuki told Fugaku that the Hyuga would likely approach him as Guard Team captain and began proposing how they could respond.

Ch. 14The Old Man Has Plenty of Men in Root

After the Hyuga Clan struggled to manage its new Police Force duties, Natsuki advised Hizashi to borrow Root personnel from Danzō. Hizashi secured thirty Root members, while both he and Danzō privately expected to use the arrangement to their own advantage.

  • Hizashi asked Fugaku to recall suspended Uchiha members, but Fugaku declined and suggested that Hizashi seek Natsuki's advice.
  • Natsuki told Hizashi to bring in people who would perform worse than the Hyuga Clan and proposed borrowing Root members from Danzō.
  • Hizashi discussed the idea with Hiashi, who praised Natsuki and encouraged Hizashi to build ties with him.
  • Hizashi asked Danzō to lend thirty Root members to the Police Force, stipulating that they would follow Hizashi's orders.
  • Danzō agreed, privately intending to expand Root's influence, while Hizashi resolved to make Danzō take the blame if things went wrong.

Ch. 15Under Currents

Danzo’s Root members joined the Police Force under Nakamura Kazuya and were assigned to public order on First through Fourth Street. Their aggressive enforcement quickly filled the detention rooms, while the Third Hokage watched Fugaku’s puzzling decisions.

  • Danzo ordered Nakamura Kazuya to establish Root’s position in the Police Force without provoking Uchiha Fugaku.
  • Hizashi reassigned Hyuga patrols and left First through Fourth Street open for Danzo’s personnel.
  • Fugaku assigned Nakamura Kazuya’s Root members to public order and warned he would send them back if they disobeyed.
  • The Third Hokage received an Anbu report and wondered why Fugaku was allowing Root into the Police Force.
  • Root members detained an izakaya owner’s employees and a drunk for fighting, and similar arrests overcrowded detention rooms across First through Fourth Street.

Ch. 16The Uchiha Clan Is Needed

Natsuki’s plan to show Konoha how much it needed the Uchiha succeeded, as shopkeepers begged the suspended officers to return. He warned Fugaku, Shisui, and Itachi that public gratitude would fade unless they addressed the root of the conflict, and Itachi asked what that root was.

  • Uchiha Haruki visited the streets where he had once patrolled, and shopkeepers enthusiastically begged him to return to the Police Force.
  • Suspended Uchiha received similar welcomes across the district, and several asked Fugaku to let them resume their posts.
  • Fugaku summoned Natsuki, Shisui, and Itachi and learned that Natsuki had sent the suspended officers out to reveal how much the village relied on them.
  • Natsuki explained that withdrawing the Uchiha had made villagers recognize their value, but returning before resolving the underlying problem would only restore the old situation.
  • Itachi asked Natsuki what the root of the problem was.

Ch. 17Uchiha Needs a Rebellion

Natsuki urged the Uchiha to build their strength and economic independence, then helped set plans in motion for Itachi and Shisui to lead some clan members away. A huge battle erupted at the Uchiha Compound, where reports said Itachi and Fugaku were fighting with Susanoo, and the Third Hokage rushed to respond.

  • Natsuki told Itachi and Fugaku that the Uchiha needed to become strong enough to claim power in Konoha and across the ninja world.
  • Natsuki, Fugaku, Shisui, and Itachi confirmed plans for Itachi and Shisui to lead some clan members out, and Natsuki gave Itachi a scroll of resources and business plans.
  • Natsuki addressed the Uchiha radicals at the shrine, while Shisui used Kotoamatsukami to strengthen their resolve and bind them to loyalty to Natsuki.
  • An Anbu reported the Uchiha gathering and its fervent chants to the Third Hokage.
  • A massive battle broke out inside the Uchiha Compound, and an Anbu reported that Itachi and Fugaku were fighting with power suspected to be Susanoo.
  • The Third Hokage ordered the Anbu to the compound and rushed there using the Body Flicker Technique.

Ch. 18The Uchiha Only Left

Fugaku and Itachi staged a devastating Susanoo battle in the Uchiha Compound, while Natsuki helped the clan portray Itachi and Shisui’s departure as training rather than rebellion. The Third Hokage accepted that explanation publicly, and Fugaku and Natsuki continued planning in private.

  • The Third Hokage and the gathered ninja clans watched Fugaku and Itachi’s Susanoo clash destroy much of the Uchiha Compound.
  • After the Susanoo vanished, the Third Hokage’s medical ninja found Fugaku exhausted but otherwise unharmed, while Natsuki reported that the clan members had been evacuated and suffered only minor injuries.
  • Natsuki and Fugaku told the Third Hokage that Itachi had left to train with Shisui, and the Third Hokage publicly declared that the Uchiha had left without rebelling.
  • Natsuki explained privately that Fugaku and Itachi had nearly exhausted themselves using Susanoo and that the Third Hokage would not risk a confrontation with three Mangekyō Sharingan users during the Cloud Village peace talks.
  • Fugaku discussed the next steps with Natsuki, delegated comforting the clan to the Fourth Elder, and fell asleep.

Ch. 19Aftermath

Danzo, the Hyuga Clan, and Hiruzen Sarutobi assessed the aftermath of the Uchiha Clan’s destruction and Itachi’s departure. The Uchiha withdrew from Konoha’s power structure and planned to relocate just beyond the village’s surveillance barrier, leaving Hiruzen to fear the political consequences.

  • Danzo learned that Fugaku and Itachi had devastated the Uchiha compound, then ordered Root to spread a story blaming Hiruzen for Itachi and Shisui leading Uchiha members in defection.
  • Hiashi and the Hyuga elders read Fugaku’s recommendation for Hizashi to take over the Police Force and agreed to double the pay of the remaining Uchiha officers.
  • Hiashi learned that Hinata’s Academy cohort included Sasuke, Naruto, and other clan heirs, and told Hizashi to have Neji build a good relationship with Sasuke.
  • Hiruzen received Fugaku’s resignation and learned that the Uchiha Clan would relocate five kilometers outside Konoha while remaining part of the village.
  • Hiruzen realized that several Uchiha Police Force leaders had resigned and that the clan’s departure, Mangekyo strength, and Itachi’s unknown whereabouts made it dangerous to confront them during peace talks with Cloud Village.

Ch. 20Obito's Recruitment

Itachi led over a hundred Uchiha Clan Members toward the Land of Rice, where he fought off Obito’s attempt to recruit him. Obito escaped by using Izanagi, while Itachi’s group continued their journey after treating his injuries.

  • Itachi and Uchiha Izumi traveled with the departing Uchiha Clan Members, and he promised to treat her to new foods planned by Natsuki.
  • Obito appeared before Itachi and tried to recruit him, but Itachi recognized him as Uchiha Madara and attacked with Tsukuyomi.
  • Itachi trapped Obito in the Tsukuyomi world for seven days, forcing his Sharingan to deactivate before stabbing him with a kunai.
  • Obito escaped the illusion by using Izanagi, sacrificing the Sharingan in his left eye, and told Black Zetsu he would let Itachi leave.
  • Uchiha Izumi treated Itachi’s injuries, and Itachi ordered the group to move on toward the Land of Rice.
