After flying for about half an hourglass, Lynn landed three li outside North Nether City.
He had not flown straight into the city. That would have drawn too much attention. All he wanted now was to leave quietly, without having to deal with anyone else.
Putting away the Bone Wings, Lynn entered the city on foot.
North Nether City was as lively as ever, its broad streets lined with shops and bustling with pedestrians.
Life was hard for the mortals here, but their city lord, Roland, was a wizard, after all. He would not bleed them dry like some noble lords.
Of course, he did not care much whether they lived or died, either.
Over the years, Lynn had visited North Nether City a few times to unwind. There were several food stalls he frequented, and their food tasted quite good.
Mmm... the warmth of everyday life.
Blending into the crowd, Lynn headed north, straight toward the teleportation array.
As he followed the main road, each step carried him a considerable distance, yet the people around him paid no notice.
Near the teleportation array, a figure was pacing back and forth.
The man wore a neat gray steward's robe, his hair meticulously combed. He kept looking up, visibly restless.
Lynn paused briefly, the corners of his mouth lifting.
Horne.
The fellow was sharp.
Sain had arrived yesterday, and with Horne guarding the teleportation array, he must have already seen him.
Given his shrewdness, it would not have been hard to deduce that Lynn would return to the Academy within the next couple of days.
Sure enough, he had been waiting here since early morning, without even returning to his little building where he could "burn incense, sip tea, listen to the rain, and watch the clouds."
Lynn continued forward.
