"I originally thought..." Gregor began slowly.
"You'd need at least another few years to reach this point. I never expected..."
He shook his head with a rueful chuckle.
"I've wasted my hundred-odd years. A brat who enrolled barely a decade ago has already surpassed me."
Lynn bowed slightly. "You're too kind, Mentor. I couldn't have gotten this far without your guidance."
Gregor waved a hand, not interested in hearing such pleasantries.
He walked over to a chair and sat down, gesturing at the seat opposite him. "Sit. Tell me, what are your plans from here? Still planning to stay on garrison duty in the Main World?"
Lynn sat down across from him.
"Yes, I'll be returning to the Main World, but I don't intend to take any more garrison assignments. I'm planning to explore it properly."
"Explore? You've still got time for that?" Gregor raised an eyebrow.
"Yes." Lynn nodded.
"I spent ten years in the Main World, holed up in a mine the entire time. I haven't had a chance to look around. This is the perfect opportunity to travel a bit and continue analyzing truth marks."
Gregor glanced at him with an amused smile. "Who would've thought you were a pleasure seeker? You certainly know how to enjoy life."
Lynn smiled without explaining.
His real goal was still the twelve hundred or so truth marks remaining in the Main World.
At his current analysis speed, he could finish a shallow analysis of them all in a little over a year. Traveling was merely a bonus; analysis was the real business.
"Have a destination in mind?" Gregor asked.
"No." Lynn shook his head. "I'll pick up a few Main World assignments later and go wherever they take me."
Gregor nodded.
"I can tell you're not one to sit idle.
