Starlight could already empower the undead. If he could "coat" starlight with holy-light resistance, the undead could gain that resistance while receiving starlight's enhancement.
They did not need holy-light attributes themselves. They only needed starlight to shield them from holy light's corrosion.

He separately extracted the "protection" branch he had analyzed from the Holy Light Laws, stripping away its holy-light attribute and retaining only the concept of "defense."
He then grafted that concept onto the Starlight Circuit, allowing starlight to automatically form a weak protective layer over an undead creature's body while empowering it.
The protective layer possessed no holy-light attribute, but it could offset some of holy light's corrosion.
The model ran in his Sea of Consciousness for two hours without collapsing.
Lynn let it run for another hourglass's worth of time. It remained stable and still did not collapse.
