Early the next morning, the construction team arrived.

Their leader was a short, stout middle-aged Wizard, a first-ring one, wearing a dust-covered work uniform and holding a roll of blueprints.

He stood beside the seventh beacon tower, looked around, then unfolded the blueprints and studied them for a while before turning to Lynn.

"My lord, where would you like your Wizard Tower built?"

Lynn pointed to an open patch of ground beside the beacon tower.

"Here."

The stout Wizard walked over, stamped on the ground with his foot, then crouched down and felt the stone with his hand.

"The foundation is fine. We can build here. What requirements do you have, my lord? Elemental affinity? Preferred functions? Defense level?"

"No particular affinity," Lynn said.

"But I need an observation deck with a good view. The higher, the better. I need to observe the enemy."

The stout Wizard made a few notes on the blueprints.

"A high observation deck with a good view, no problem. Anything else?"

"That's all."

The stout Wizard looked up at Lynn, seemingly wanting to make sure he was not joking.

When ordinary Wizards built towers, they wished they could cram every possible function inside.

Meditation rooms, alchemy rooms, libraries, undead incubation chambers, defensive spell formations, teleportation arrays—none could be left out.

Yet this one only wanted an observation deck.

"My lord, you do not need a meditation room?"

"No."

"No alchemy room?"

"No."

"What about defensive spell formations? At the very least, we should set up several layers, in case Holy Light creatures attack—"

"As long as the observation deck is high enough," Lynn interrupted.

He would not be staying here for two years. Getting all that miscellaneous stuff would only be a waste, and all of it required additional magic stones.

The stout Wizard opened
