Lynn returned to his laboratory in the Bone Spire, entered his stigmata domain, and took the silvery-white crystal from his ring, setting it on the table.
Inside the Grand Cathedral, Gregor was crouched in front of the workbench, holding a petri dish. The grayish-white mist inside it churned slowly.
He heard footsteps but did not look up.
"You're back?"
"Yes." Lynn pushed the crystal toward Gregor.
"Mentor, could you check whether this information is accurate?"
Gregor set down the petri dish, picked up the crystal, and extended his mental power into it.
His brow furrowed, then relaxed. After a dozen or so breaths, he placed the crystal on the table.
"Information about the Netherworld. Much more detailed than the records in the Bone Vault."
"I've read the Bone Vault's records on the Netherworld and the River Styx. There are some discrepancies between them."
"The records I read before said the Bone Monarch's territory was in the Southern Territory, but this crystal says it's in the Eastern Territory. The Travelogue of the River Styx says the Rot Monarch was a High-Tier Stigma, while the crystal says he's at stigma peak."
With that, Gregor pulled a book about the Netherworld from the shelf, flipped through a few pages, then closed it.
"This Netherworld Records was written six hundred years ago. It's only natural for the balance of power in the Netherworld to change over six hundred years."
He picked up the crystal and examined it again.
"The information in this crystal is more detailed and more systematic. One person couldn't have gathered it all. It must be the result of years of work by the Observatory of the Stars."
