Beside the stone platform stood an apprentice in a short gray robe, an iron-gray badge pinned to his chest.

This was an ordinary neutral faction, unaffiliated with any major academy.

Lynn crouched and took a carving knife from his ring.

The gray-robed apprentice seemed accustomed to being timid and did not try to stop him.

The apprentice's mouth fell open, seemingly unable to believe it.

He did not know whether to agree or refuse. Lynn did not wait for his answer, instead stepping onto the teleportation array and heading for the next transit point.

He believed this small faction would not dare reject the request of a Stigma Wizard.

The apprentice remained where he was, clutching the communication wizard artifact in his hand. After hesitating for a long time, he finally dialed the frequency of the resident Wizard.
