The Void on the outskirts of the Woles Galaxy had transformed from a bloody battlefield into a bustling "technical exchange port."
The Chaos flagship Profane Maw, once steeped in blasphemous power, was now undergoing a complete rebirth.
Led by Hilling engineers and assisted by Tech-Priests of the Imperium of Man's Adeptus Mechanicus, the twisted daemon-metal and writhing flesh of the Profane Maw were thoroughly stripped away and purified.
Massive engineering arms moved like surgeons' hands, precisely cutting away those blasphemous growths and sources of Warp contamination, exposing the relatively "clean" original framework of the ship beneath.
Using the materials, weapons, ammunition, and equipment offered up by the Adeptus Mechanicus, together with supplies carried by the Spirit of Fire, the Hilling engineers began rebuilding it.
Its engines were replaced with more efficient, stable models. Its weapon systems were optimized, and shield generators and sensor arrays were added.
Its internal structure was replanned, with spacious corridors, efficient energy conduits, and... data nodes glowing with faint blue light throughout the entire vessel.
The most critical modification was the bridge.
The originally filthy Chaos command center was completely cleared out and replaced with a smaller control center whose style closely matched that of the Spirit of Fire.
Above the massive main console, a gentle blue female hologram—an independent subprogram of Dina—silently initialized.
"Ship core structure reconstruction completion rate: 88.7%."
"Energy systems connected and functioning normally."
"Sensor array calibration in progress..."
"Defense matrix initializing..."
"Main AI core 'Dina' online... Initialization complete. Captain, you may assume command at any time." Dina's familiar synthesized voice rang through the new bridge.
Captain Anders looked at the transformed warship, its lines clean and hard, its paint changed to a steady gray-blue, and a smaller overlapping emblem of the Crystal Cross and Imperial Aquila stamped upon its prow. She nodded
