Background / History

Lingxiao was nurtured by the Sun Star as its sole Great Sun Golden Crow. After hatching, the Sun Star’s surging fortune drew Xihe and Changxi to investigate. The three spent more than thirteen Yuanhui discussing the Dao and cultivating together between Lingxiao Palace and the Moon Palace. 1

He helped establish the Twelve Time Markers and the temporal order of heaven and earth, earning a great descent of Heavenly Dao Merit shared with Xihe and Changxi. The act also linked the fortunes of the Sun Star and Lunar Yin, ensuring their continued existence. 3

After attending Hongjun’s sermons at Violet Firmament Palace, Lingxiao publicly announced his intent to marry Xihe and Changxi. Their union became the first orthodox Heavenly Marriage since the creation of the Primordial World and brought further Heavenly Dao Merit. 14 29

Lingxiao later entered Pangu Hall, received an inheritance connected to Pangu’s opening of heaven and earth, and gained the source divine lights of Yin-Yang, Five Elements, and Creation. His resulting understanding of force and merit allowed him to sever his Good Corpse and enter the Quasi-Saint realm. 76

Appearance

Lingxiao commonly appears as a handsome, heroic man in dark-gold or golden robes. He carries the innate majesty of the Sun Star without an oppressive or scorching presence. 1 136

  • Dark-gold imperial robe in his early appearance; later wears the Golden-Threaded Fire-Patterned Robe. 1 136
  • Upright posture, sword-like brows, and starry eyes. 1 39
  • A gentle expression contrasts with the natural authority between his brows. 1 136
  • Solar Divine Flame surrounds him, accompanied by intertwined Yin-Yang and Five Elements Dao rhythms. 136
  • His true form is a Great Sun Golden Crow. 1 39

Personality

Lingxiao is composed, courteous, and notably deliberate in his decisions. He welcomes visitors such as Kunpeng despite lacking prior friendship, and he treats powerful seniors such as the Five Elements Ancestor with caution and respect. 22 106

He places long-term stability above immediate gain. Rather than competing for every opportunity, he focuses on merit, world order, and methods that benefit living beings; Laozi characterizes his conduct as benefiting all things without contention. 21 41

Lingxiao is protective of Xihe and Changxi, refusing to expose them to dangers connected to his future enemies and choosing to face certain risks alone. 93 100 He is also generous with insight, having guided figures including Kunpeng, Eastern King Lord, Zhen Yuanzi, Houtu, and the Twelve Ancestral Witches. 23 24 41 73
