Shin raised a finger. Gogeta cried out as light flared around him, and his fusion was forcibly undone.
"Whoa! You undid the fusion? Supreme Kai, you really are amazing!" Son Goku exclaimed.
Vegeta's face darkened. He had never imagined that even Gogeta's power would be no match for the Supreme Kai.
"Heh, Gohan, I'm glad you're all right!"
Easygoing as ever, Son Goku quickly put what had happened behind him. He flashed his familiar bright smile and waved to his son.
"Dad..."
Warmth filled Son Gohan's heart, and a gentle smile appeared on his face.
"Hmph!"
Vegeta folded his arms with a disgruntled snort. "Kakarot, I'm never fusing with you again!"
Son Goku laughed, utterly unconcerned. "Then let's hope we never face another enemy who makes us need to!"
"Tch!"
Vegeta curled his lip and looked at Piccolo. "Piccolo, have Trunks and the others been revived?"
"They should have been, but let's go back to Earth and make sure," Piccolo suggested.
"Let's go, then, Vegeta." Son Goku held out his hand with a grin.
Vegeta's face went black. He slapped Son Goku's hand away, then reluctantly planted his own hand on Goku's shoulder.
The sight
drew helpless smiles from Piccolo and Son Gohan.
Just as the four prepared to return to Earth, Shin stopped them.
"Goku, Vegeta, wait!"
Son Goku and Vegeta paused and looked at Shin in confusion.
"Supreme Kai, is there something else?" Son Goku asked.
Shin smiled ruefully. "Didn't I tell you earlier? Your battle with Baby was a God of Destruction Selection Battle."
"Now that Baby and Frieza have been eliminated, the next God of Destruction will be chosen from the two of you."
Son Goku smiled. "Then let Vegeta be the God of Destruction. I'm not interested in becoming a god!"
