Facing the God of Destruction

"Eh? Vegeta, do you know that guy?" Son Goku asked curiously.

Vegeta recalled the shadows of his childhood, and his body began to tremble. In a shaking voice, he said, "Beerus, the God of Destruction—a deity said to stand alongside the Supreme Kai. I saw him when I was a child."

"On par with the Supreme Kai? Then he must be really strong!" Son Goku asked excitedly.

Vegeta broke out in a cold sweat. "Yeah, he's powerful. After all, he's someone who stands alongside the Supreme Kai."

The innocence vanished from Son Goku's face, replaced by seriousness. He said in a low voice, "Earth is my home. No matter how formidable that God of Destruction is, I won't let him harm Earth!"

"Your courage is commendable." Shin nodded approvingly, then suggested, "Beerus will likely arrive on Earth in about fifteen minutes. Rather than passively wait for the God of Destruction to come, why don't we take the initiative and go find him?"

"Are we not there yet, Whis?!" Beerus complained impatiently.

Whis said unhappily, "This is already the fastest speed in the universe!"

"Tch!"

Whis flew for several more minutes before suddenly letting out an "Eh?" The stream of light around him faded, and he and Beerus came to a stop in space.

Seeing Whis stop, Beerus asked in delight, "Whis, are we there?!"

"No, not yet, Lord Beerus," Whis replied.

At that, Beerus frowned in displeasure. "If we're not there, why did you stop?"

Whis explained, "Lord Beerus, someone is coming from ahead."

"Someone? Who?" Beerus poked his head out from behind Whis. Then a streak of light at the edge of the universe entered his sight. In just a few blinks, the streak that had been at the edge of the universe flew before them.

Bzz!

The light faded, revealing four figures within: Shin, Kibito, Son Goku, and Vegeta.

Whis looked at the four people opposite him. His gaze settled on Shin, and surprise flashed in his eyes. Then he smiled, bowed politely, and said, "So it's the Supreme Kai. Did you come specifically to find us?"

"The Supreme Kai?" Beerus froze for a moment, narrowing his eyes as he examined Shin. Realization flashed across his face. "It really is the Supreme Kai. What are you here for?"

Shin smiled and explained, "I was attending a friend's birthday party on Earth when I suddenly sensed the two of you heading toward Earth, so I came specifically to welcome you."

"Oh? Welcome us? But judging by the way you look, you don't seem to be here to welcome us." Beerus narrowed his eyes at Son Goku and Vegeta behind Shin, both eager to make a move.

"Let's just say we're here to welcome you, Mr. Beerus. May I ask what business you have on Earth?" Shin asked.

Beerus grinned and said coldly, "What if I said I'm going there to destroy Earth? What would you do?"

"If that's the case, Vegeta and I will definitely stop you with everything we have!" Son Goku communicated with Beerus across space through God Power.

"Oh?" Beerus looked at red-haired Son Goku in surprise, then glanced at Vegeta beside him. Astonished, he said, "You brat... look a little familiar... That guy just called you Vegeta... Could you be King Vegeta's child? Did you dye your hair?"

Vegeta stared at Beerus gravely, also using God Power as a medium to communicate with him across space. "That's right. I am Vegeta, prince of Planet Vegeta."

"Beerus, what exactly is your purpose for going to Earth?" Vegeta asked gravely.

Shin remained expressionless, unaffected in the slightest.

The Potara Earrings Kibito wore glimmered faintly, helping him resist the pressure of Beerus's Divine Power.

Son Goku and Vegeta, meanwhile, faced a formidable enemy. The red God Power around them boiled as they resisted the pressure of Beerus's Divine Power.

"Oh, this energy is... God Power! Could it be that you two are the so-called Super Saiyan Gods?" Beerus asked with great interest.
