Nawaki's Resurrection, Tsunade's Shock: Enemies or Friends?

"So that makes you an enemy!" Uchiha Shadian said coldly.

His relationship with Tsunade was somewhat special, but he had personally killed even his own older brother. One more Tsunade made no difference. Anyone who dared stand in his way would be mercilessly crushed beneath his feet.

"What? An enemy? You actually see me as an enemy?" Upon hearing that, the resentment on Tsunade's face nearly overflowed. He had torn her life to pieces. In her youth, she had never even had a proper romance. She had taught him sincerely, then somehow ended up sleeping with him in a moment of confusion. Now, after years apart, he returned only to call her an enemy. The fury in Tsunade's eyes burned fiercely.

"If you stop me, then you're my enemy. Besides, you ruined my plans." He had been on the verge of learning how to open the final gate of the Eight Gates, the Gate of Death, but Tsunade's arrival had halted Might Guy before he could open it, causing his scheme to fail.

Once he mastered all Eight Gates, with his current physique, he would fear nothing—not even Six Paths Madara.

"Stop. I'll help you settle everything," Tsunade said, suppressing the resentment surging within her.

"Teacher, it's not that I refuse to show you respect. It's just that you truly can't influence this battle." Uchiha Shadian sighed.

He dispelled his Sage Art and landed before Tsunade. "I still owe you a promise. I'll repay it now."

Uchiha Shadian bit his finger, formed hand seals, and slammed his palm onto the ground. "Summoning Jutsu."

With a bang, a cloud of smoke rose up.

Amid the smoke, a coffin slowly emerged from the ground.

Crack!

The coffin lid split apart and fell away, revealing the figure inside.

Tsunade's body trembled as she looked at the figure in the coffin. An incredulous expression appeared on her face. "Nawaki?"

"How is that possible?" Shizune cried out.

Hearing that, Might Guy also walked over. When he saw the figure inside the coffin, his face filled with disbelief as well.

As though he had heard the call, the figure in the coffin slowly awakened from his slumber. Opening his eyes, Nawaki's first sight was Tsunade. Staring at her, he called out in disbelief, "Sister?"

"Nawaki, is that really you?" The familiar figure, the familiar voice—Tsunade could no longer hold back her tears as waves of longing flooded her heart.

"Sister, am I dreaming? Didn't I already die? Why can I still see you? Did you die too?" Nawaki's eyes were also filled with disbelief.

He had never considered that he might have been resurrected. Instead, he thought he was dreaming, or that Tsunade had died and the two siblings had met in the Pure Land.

Tsunade stepped forward and wrapped Nawaki in a fierce embrace.

Nawaki's face gradually turned blue. "Sister, ease up. I-I-I can barely breathe," he said painfully.

"Ah!" Tsunade hurriedly released Nawaki, then ran her hands all over him. He was warm, he had color, he had veins—he was no different from a living person.

"Sister, what are you doing?" Nawaki asked, blushing slightly. "Even if we're siblings, you can't just touch me all over like this. It goes against moral decency."

"Nawaki, I'm so happy." Tsunade embraced him again, though this time she did not hold him tightly enough to make him suffocate.

"Sister, why do you have body heat? Didn't you die? How can I feel your temperature?" Nawaki was completely bewildered. Tsunade had held him too tightly before, leaving him no time to notice, but her gentler embrace now made him immediately realize something was wrong. Tsunade had body heat—what was going on? The dead had no physical bodies and no body heat.

Yet now, he could feel Tsunade's warmth. It was utterly wrong, completely contrary to what he knew.

"Nawaki, you've actually been resurrected," Shizune said excitedly from the side.

"I've been resurrected?" Nawaki's eyes widened in disbelief. Was there really such a heaven-defying ninjutsu?

"Nawaki, this is wonderful. The two of us can live together again," Tsunade said through tears, her face full of happiness.

If she had one regret, it was that she had failed to protect her younger brother and allowed him to die on the battlefield.

Now that Nawaki had returned to life, that regret was gone.

"Sister, have I really been resurrected?" Nawaki still could not believe it. Returning from death was simply unimaginable, something unheard of.

"Just feel your body carefully, and you'll understand, won't you?" Shizune interjected excitedly.

Nawaki touched his body. He had body heat and a heartbeat. Looking at his wrist, he could clearly see the veins beneath his skin. "I really came back to life? Sister, how did you do it?" Nawaki looked at Tsunade with excitement written all over his face.

"She couldn't do it. I'm the one who resurrected you," Uchiha Shadian said flatly. "Teacher, I helped bring your brother back. We're even now. Neither of us owes the other anything."

"Guy, our battle isn't over. Continue!"

"If you don't stop me, more people in Konoha will die."

Uchiha Shadian turned to Might Guy.

Upon hearing that, Might Guy was about to step forward and resume his fierce battle with Uchiha Shadian, but Tsunade raised a hand to stop him.

Naturally, Might Guy obeyed Tsunade.

"Shadian, let's talk this through first. Killing cannot solve anything. It will only drag more innocent lives into this," Tsunade said, wiping away the tears on her face as she looked at Uchiha Shadian with complicated eyes.

Uchiha Shadian's expression remained indifferent. "There's no need to talk. Between Konoha and me, only one can remain. Either Konoha dies, or I do."

"If you stand with Konoha, then you are my enemy."

"Teacher, you shouldn't have returned to Konoha. You shouldn't have come back and stepped into this muddy mess."

"Konoha stopped being the Konoha your grandfather founded long ago."

"For the power and authority in their hands, certain people have turned Konoha into a foul, murky place without a trace of light."

"Can you imagine them raising butcher's blades against helpless children? To obtain the Uchiha Clan's Sharingan, they secretly ambushed and murdered Uchiha Clan members just to dig out their eyes. Even that did not satisfy them. To get more Sharingan, they issued an order to exterminate the Uchiha Clan. If I had not been strong enough, you would not have returned to find me as I am now. You would have found a breathing corpse."

"Teacher, the Konoha of today is no longer the Konoha you once knew."

"I advise you to take your brother and leave. He is only a twelve-year-old child now. Do you want to see him dragged into war again, then killed alive before your eyes once more? Do you want to go through it all again—watching him die with your own eyes, powerless to do anything?"

"Wake up, Teacher. Konoha is no longer worth protecting."

"Let me purge every darkness from Konoha. When that time comes, you can use your prestige to rebuild a brand-new Konoha."

"A new Konoha built upon your will."
