Hogwarts: I Obtained the Paternal System

"Dumbledore, since when had Equality of life become an excuse for your suspicions?"

Jealous of Harry?

"Severus..."

Dumbledore interrupted Snape. He leaned wearily against the back of his chair and sighed softly.

"I know you find this unbelievable, but I think you should understand.

Any theory could spark a war. The Wizarding World could not withstand a third upheaval."

Equality of life?

If Darren deliberately guided this idea, then goblins, House-elves... and every other life oppressed by wizards would gather around him.

The riot he stirred up might even be worse than Voldemort's or Grindelwald's.

"So, Darren, why did you promote Equality of life?"

Dumbledore sat up straight and waited for Darren's answer.

Darren's head hurt a little.

Why had he promoted it?

Of course, it was because the system had made him promote it.

Whenever that thing detected an opportunity, it dared to make him say anything.

Two Paternal Points notifications rang out.

Darren knew that Dumbledore and Snape had each contributed once.

When he had met Snape and Dumbledore before, perhaps Dumbledore had not contributed many Paternal Points at all. They had all come from Snape?

Damn, that old schemer!

Naturally, Dumbledore had no idea what Darren was thinking. He merely let out a small sigh of relief, his tone carrying a touch of cheerfulness.

"It seems our little Mr. Darren will always be so kind and adorable."

"Hmph!"

Snape snorted through his nose.

"All right, all right. Next question: Darren, would you fight Harry for the position of head of the Potter family?"

What the hell?

Why would he fight for that?

It was just the position of head of a fallen family. He really did not care for it!

"No."

He answered without hesitation.

Snape slammed a fist hard onto Dumbledore's desk and glared at Dumbledore in annoyance.

"Don't tell me you are already planning to push them into some inheritance dispute!"

"No, no, Severus. Aside from some money and businesses, the Potter family has nothing valuable left.

Only one treasure remains, one that moves even me. But I need to ensure it reaches Harry's hands."

Dumbledore sighed softly.

Darren conservatively guessed that it was the Invisibility Cloak.

Seeing that Snape still looked furious, Dumbledore hesitated before continuing his explanation.

"What happened to little Darren in Diagon Alley made many people aware that Harry Potter had gained a younger brother.

Many of them are Harry's fans, while others have grown up listening to Harry's story.

When they learned that Harry had a younger brother, their first reaction was that Darren wanted to seize Harry's property.

We all know Darren is a kind child, but they do not.

They will only think Darren is showing off in order to overshadow Harry's fame and inherit the Potter family.

Because of a secret that cannot yet be revealed, I must ensure Harry becomes the Potter family's heir before I can give him that item.

So I promised them that only Harry would inherit the Potter family, even though the Potter family had reappeared because of Darren."

Dumbledore looked rather troubled.

He had never expected that, after word spread that Darren was Harry's younger brother, this would be most people's reaction.

He truly had not considered it before.

As a dignified White Wizard, using Veritaserum to ask a child such questions made Dumbledore feel somewhat ashamed.

"A bunch of meddlesome idiots!"

Snape commented.

Dumbledore sighed and said nothing.

Several minutes of silence followed. Just when Darren thought the questioning would end like this, Dumbledore suddenly asked,

"Darren, are you jealous of Harry?"

"Dumbledore, why are you asking that? What are you suspecting?"

Snape questioned Dumbledore.

"Severus, calm down. In truth, even you are worried that Darren might be jealous of Harry, aren't you?"

"I am only worried that the two little brats she protected with her life will end up turning against each other!"

"So am I, Severus."

"..."

Well, then?

It seemed this question really was not unreasonable.

If he were answering based on his own thoughts, then he definitely was not jealous. He had a system, he did not consider this place his home, and he did not see these people as family.

He treated it more like playing a game.

Who would feel upset because the protagonist in a game received better treatment?

But if the original owner were here, he would probably be very sad.

Harry Potter had fame and so many people who cared about him.

Yet he had died in that Orphanage.

Even if the original owner had not died in that Orphanage and had come here instead.

Without a system, he could only be himself.

Then he would see Dumbledore's suspicious gaze, Snape's complicated bad temper, and the wary eyes of many people.

He would not even have a House-elf who recognized him, because he did not have a phoenix egg.

Living like that, the original owner might very well have grown into a great villain.

So when answering Dumbledore's question, he could not simply and one-sidedly state his own thoughts.

That would be too unreal.
