Darren finally bought all his books and various school supplies in Diagon Alley.

Peeves had wanted to buy him another pet, but Darren refused.

He still had a hairless turkey to raise. There was no room at home for another pet that ate for free.

Darren looked at his character attributes with satisfaction. They were practically the attributes of a genius.

Even Hermione probably could not compare to him.

At last, September 1st arrived.

At ten-thirty sharp, Peeves sent Darren to King's Cross Station.

He needed to take the Hogwarts Express to school.

It was a tradition for every new student.

And Dumbledore was probably hoping that he would meet Harry and then be persuaded by Harry to join Gryffindor.

That old man had no intention of watching Darren enter Slytherin.

He even suspected that Dumbledore had planted spies here.

Darren curled his lip.

But he immediately put on an obedient smile again.

He looked as though he were eagerly waiting for someone to arrive.

It was not to complete the mission. Darren simply wanted to do a good deed!

He looked around and immediately spotted the family of redheads.

He touched his own head.

Come to think of it, he did look rather like one of them.

The only slight difference was that there was always a lock of hair sticking up on top of his forehead.

Every day, he tried to comb it flat, but it always stubbornly sprang back up.

He had even tried cutting it off with scissors, but it grew back the next day.

Darren always felt that it made him look a little foolish.

Unfortunately, Professor McGonagall laughed at him for a long while before telling him that it was a trait James had left him. She refused his request to permanently remove that lock of hair.

Darren sighed and pressed his hair down hard.

In his mind, it was flat now.

Only then did he pretend to be waiting for someone as he slowly wandered around nearby.

In reality, he was inconspicuously moving closer to the Weasley family.

"Ah, Mum, I fell down..."

Darren had only managed to turn around when he heard a tearful voice by his feet.

Looking down, he saw a little red-haired girl lying at his feet.

The raised palm of one hand was scraped raw.

"Ginny!"

A middle-aged woman's voice rang out.

Darren was sure now. This was Ginny Weasley.

He had not mistaken her.

He immediately helped Ginny up carefully and brushed the dust off her clothes.

Ginny sniffled.

She still wanted to cry a little.

Her fall had hurt too much.

Darren sighed, took a piece of candy from his pocket, and handed it to her. He said softly, "When I fell down at the orphanage before, they always said eating a piece of candy would make it better."

"Then did you get better?"

Ginny asked as she wiped away her tears.

"No. No one gave me any candy."

Darren shook his head dejectedly. When Ginny held the candy and wanted to thank him, he blushed shyly and strode away.

A red-haired little boy was gathered around Ginny.

"Ginny, where did you get that candy?"

Ron asked enviously.

His mother rarely bought him candy.
