He gestured for Darren to speak.

Darren thought for a moment, then said, "First, he hated the name Tom. So whenever he changed his name to Voldemort, that must have been when he learned the truth.

Voldemort must have hated his Muggle father deeply. I think he probably wouldn't have spared him."
