Voldemort raised his hand.

A flash of green light struck Darren...

Harry finally regained a little awareness.

He remembered. Darren was going to die in his place.

Darren!

He abruptly sat up.

Everything before him was empty. His Invisibility Cloak was gone, Darren's wand had vanished, and so had his glasses.

Darren had disguised himself as Harry. Darren had gone to his death.

He instinctively checked the time.

But he discovered that fifteen minutes had already passed.

If Darren had gone over there, that was enough time...

Harry rose to his feet in panic, as though he were about to rush out at any moment.

He couldn't—he couldn't just watch Darren die!

"Oh, child, before everything is over, I'm afraid you'll need to have a talk with me."

Just as Harry was about to leave, a voice spoke up. It belonged to a man.

The man sat behind Dumbledore's desk.

There was a faint smile on his face, but overall, he still seemed somewhat cold.

"I think you may have seen me before. Gellert Grindelwald. Pleased to meet you."

Grindelwald extended his hand.

Although Harry was astonished that Grindelwald had not died and was here instead, his mind was now filled entirely with Darren.

He thought that if he had been faster, Darren might have...

"Sorry, child... Darren has already met him, and he used the Killing Curse on him as well."

Grindelwald spoke softly. Harry suddenly turned around.

He collapsed onto the floor.

For a moment, he even felt that perhaps he should have died.

He should have died there like his parents, and then he would never have had to deal with any of this again.
