Roy slowed his steps and quietly climbed to a high point in the courtyard. The moment he reached it, he saw a group of people in uniforms marked with an R battling the Wazik Family.
However, Team Rocket's grunts were clearly more professional. They had richer combat experience and could coordinate with their Pokémon in battle.
The Wazik Family's guards were beaten into disarray. Yet these Team Rocket members took no prisoners; whenever they caught a guard or family member, they beat them to death.
Team Rocket seemed to bear some deep-seated grudge against the Wazik Family.
Roy did not alert the fighting grunts. Instead, he quietly looked toward the mansion deepest within the estate, where the energy fluctuations were strongest.
Reaching the wall, Roy looked toward the center of the battlefield. A middle-aged man who resembled Little Fatty stood there—the head of the Wazik Family, and also the Gym Leader of Ecruteak City.
Above him flew a strange-looking giant bird: the Archeops that had previously pursued Dragapult.
In front of him stood a Golem that already looked like it could barely keep going, along with a massive creature around 3.5 meters tall, clad in green rocky armor, with thick limbs, sharp three-clawed feet, and a body as heavy as a mountain.
Its head and back were covered in spikes. It had red eyes, exposed fangs, triangular black holes scattered across its armor, and diamond-shaped inner shell exposed across its belly and back. It was Tyranitar, known as the Desert Tyrant.
