Background

Roy awakened on Mt. Pyre after transmigrating from Earth. A Gengar saved him, and the guardians of the Blue and Red Orbs took him in. Recognizing his unusually powerful soul force, the elders taught him Ghost Power after Litwick began following him. Roy remained on the mountain for roughly two and a half years, cleaning gravestones, training, and growing close to the elders, Phoebe, and Gengar. 1 8

The elders eventually arranged his admission to Rustboro Academy. Mt. Pyre could not accommodate both Roy and Phoebe as inheritors without diluting its Ghost Power, so Roy left while promising to return during breaks. 8 10
