A handful of fine snow appeared in Froslass's hand. She guided it toward the large flakes falling through the air... Failure.
On her second try, Froslass still couldn't control the strength of her Powder Snow well enough to merge it with the falling snowflakes.
On the third try...
Delibird wasn't surprised that Froslass kept failing. What surprised him was how quickly she learned and how well she controlled Ice-type energy.
After countless failures, Froslass swept out a handful of fine snowflakes made of Ice-type energy, sending them into the snow falling throughout the training room.
The snowflakes made of Ice-type energy drew the falling snow together, gathering it into a swirling mass.
As the two currents met, the scattered flakes and Powder Snow gradually became one. They swelled into a howling vortex, forming a simple Blizzard that swept away with shards of ice.
Realizing she had succeeded, Froslass recalled how it had felt to use the move and scattered another handful of Powder Snow. Once again, she produced a simplified Blizzard.
That proved the first time hadn't been luck. She really had learned it.
She... learned it?
She'd learned Delibird's simplified Blizzard, made by combining Powder Snow with falling snow, in just two hours?
Pryce was stunned by Froslass's aptitude. This went beyond talent; it showed an understanding of Ice-type energy itself.
Clap, clap, clap!
Applause rang through the training room. Pryce turned and saw Roy, awake from his second sleep, standing at the entrance to the Training Ground with several of his Pokémon.
Roy watched Froslass train alongside Swinub and Delibird, clapping to show how impressed he was by her move.
