White light blazed fiercely inside the room. Space warped more and more violently, and the air churned and roiled like boiling water.
The next second, three figures appeared out of thin air in the heart of the light, like fish breaking through the surface of the water.
As the dazzling white light slowly faded, their outlines gradually became clear.
It was Steven, along with his Shiny Metagross and a Claydol whose yellow-brown body bore strange markings!
"Mr. Steven?!"
"Y-you came straight here?"
The moment Lin Mo had noticed the spatial disturbance, he had already formed a suspicion, but he had never expected Steven to appear in such a direct fashion.
By "seeing it for himself," Steven had meant using Claydol's Teleport to cross an unknown distance and arrive right in his hotel room!
This was far too sudden!
Steven reached up and patted Claydol's head, then explained with a smile, "Talking through a screen isn't nearly as good as meeting in person. Besides, this surprise needs to be witnessed firsthand to feel truly special."
The Shiny Metagross beside him opened its eyes. Seeing Lin Mo's Shiny Metagross, its gaze softened, and it waved a metal arm in greeting with a low hum.
Lin Mo's Metagross opened its eyes as well and answered with a hum of its own. The two immediately drew closer and greeted each other affectionately.
Claydol hovered quietly to one side.
The light that had been flowing across its body had dimmed considerably. Clearly, that long-distance Teleport had consumed a great deal of its energy.
Only then did Lin Mo recover from his shock. He hurriedly invited Steven to sit, then rummaged through the backpack on the bed and offered Claydol an Advanced Energy Cube.
After all, it deserved some credit for getting him here.
