The line at the harbor stretched like an endless dragon, its far end nowhere in sight. Everyone was leading or carrying their Pokémon, their faces bright with anticipation.
Lin Mo stroked Fire Vulpix as he looked at the vast crowd, unable to help marveling at the sight.
He remembered asking the hotel receptionist before leaving and being told that few people usually bought last-minute tickets for this ferry. Why had so many suddenly turned up today?
Looking at the Trainer ahead of him, who was holding an Eevee, Lin Mo leaned over and asked, "Excuse me, why are so many people taking the ferry to Mossdeep City today?"
"You don't know?"
The young Trainer looked surprised, then launched into an enthusiastic explanation. "Mossdeep City is about to host the final performance of the Marina Touring Performance Troupe's tour!
"They've toured several cities in the Hoenn Region and gotten rave reviews. Mossdeep City is their last stop, so nobody wants to miss it."
"The Marina Touring Performance Troupe?"
Lin Mo paused.
"That's right,"
another girl beside them, wearing a hat, chimed in, her eyes sparkling. "Their star performer, Miss Youmei, is a Water-type performance Trainer who's even better than the Cerulean Sisters from Kanto!
"She wears a specially made mermaid costume and dances the Underwater Waltz with Water-type Pokémon. It's so beautiful it takes your breath away!"
The young Trainer picked up the thread, adding excitedly, "And they don't just put on aquatic performances. They also have all sorts of acrobatics and magic acts involving Pokémon. Every show is packed.
"Mossdeep City is the last stop on their Hoenn tour. Miss this one, and you won't get another chance!"
Now Lin Mo understood. No wonder so many people were clamoring to board the ferry. They were all going for the show.
