It resembled a camel, and the two "humps" on its back, covered in black shells, rose and fell slightly.
Each time its thick, powerful hooves struck the ground, they produced a dull thump, thump, as if announcing the arrival of a heavyweight contender.
The moment it appeared, a scorching heat radiated from its body.
Even the air around it seemed to warp from the heat. Two streams of white vapor, flecked with sparks, blew from its nostrils and left two faint scorch marks in the sand.
