Background / History

Shisui had entrusted his eyes and convictions to Itachi in the hope of preventing conflict and preserving the Uchiha. After being summoned back through Impure World Reincarnation on the night of the massacre, he learns that Itachi is slaughtering the clan and is overcome by betrayal and regret. Shien persuades him to set aside that regret and help save the remaining Uchiha 2.

He confronts Itachi directly, demanding to know why he betrayed and killed their clansmen. His unexpected return destabilizes Itachi, who retreats using a crow technique while Shisui gives chase 3 4.

Rather than leaving the clan grounds, Shisui organizes surviving Uchiha combatants in the compound's core area under Shien's orders. He struggles with the decision not to assist Fugaku and Itachi against Root, but ultimately helps prioritize the survivors' defense and the clan's legal position within Konoha 5 7.

After Root attacks the remaining Uchiha, Shisui fights alongside the clan using Genjutsu and precise attacks, helping force Danzo's forces into retreat. His reappearance becomes a major factor in Konoha and the Hyuga Clan reassessing the Uchiha's surviving strength 8 20 22.

Shisui later resolves to spend his remaining time protecting and training the Uchiha. He asks Shien to summon him again in the future if possible, as he believes he must continue atoning for the clan's losses 24.

Appearance

Shisui is a young Uchiha with short hair, a button nose, and sharp eyes. Following his reanimation, he conceals himself in public because of his visibly unnatural condition and worsening body 2 15.

Despite his remorse, he is capable of decisive violence against those threatening the Uchiha. He attacks Itachi in fury, stands against Root, and later incapacitates ANBU who attempt to interfere with Sasuke's training 3 8 40.

As Sasuke's mentor, Shisui emphasizes calm judgment over anger. He teaches that survival, observation, and knowing when to disengage are more important than pursuing victory recklessly 39 40.
