"Child, you have Innate Full Soul Power!"
Flender excitedly grabbed Ye Han by the shoulders.
Ye Han wasn't surprised. Instead, he felt a little disappointed.
Two god-tier Martial Souls, yet his Innate Soul Power was only level ten.
But there was nothing he could do about it. Without a god's blessing, he couldn't break through the innate limit.
Just like in Douluo III: no matter how powerful someone was, they couldn't become a true god without a Divine Position!
"Good heavens!"
The dean and the orphans around them were utterly stunned:
"He awakened a super Martial Soul and has Innate Full Soul Power!"
"He'll definitely become a Titled Douluo someday, won't he?!"
Suddenly, Flender roared:
"Silence!!"
The crowd fell quiet, exchanging glances.
"Good child, allow me to formally introduce myself!"
Flender adopted a mysterious air as he looked at Ye Han.
"I am Flender, dean of Shrek Academy!"
He deliberately raised his voice, as if afraid no one else would hear him.
"You awakened a super-ancestral Martial Soul, the Golden Saint Dragon!"
"But don't celebrate just yet. This Martial Soul has a serious hidden danger!"
"Make the slightest mistake in cultivation, and it'll completely regress into a Trash Martial Soul!"
Flender paused, then spun a complete fabrication:
"I have a friend who's a Grandmaster. He awakened this very Martial Soul back in the day!"
"Unfortunately, he made a mistake while cultivating, and it regressed. His cultivation has been stuck ever since!"
As they listened to his tall tale, the crowd buzzed with discussion.
Ye Han nearly burst out laughing.
A mistake in cultivation caused it to regress? Was this guy trying to con people?!
Clearly, Yu Xiaogang was simply no good. He'd awakened a piglet as his Martial Soul!
Then he didn't know how to cultivate, either, and ended up a pig who could only fart!
He'd taken a perfectly good young Saint Dragon and ruined it completely! What a joke!
"Oh."
Ye Han kept his expression impassive and replied sarcastically:
"You're not about to tell me that joining your academy will guarantee I can cultivate without a hitch, are you?"
???
Flender hadn't expected such an indifferent response.
Hadn't he made it sound serious enough? His tried-and-true art of conning people had failed?!
"Damn brat!!"
Flender forced down his annoyance and continued to put on a mysterious air:
"Exactly! That's what I had in mind!!"
"My Shrek Academy is famous throughout the continent. We only accept monster students!"
"We have countless expert instructors, with plenty of experience cultivating all kinds of Martial Souls!"
"Since the academy was founded, we've accepted only sixty-two students, and just fourteen have actually graduated!"
"Yet every one of them became an important figure! The most outstanding among them is now an elder of Spirit Hall!"
He paused, deliberately raising his voice again:
"And your talent far surpasses theirs!"
"Join us, and we'll definitely cultivate you into a success!"
The crowd erupted in astonished cries once more.
The orphans cast envious looks at Ye Han.
The dean was positively delighted and wanted to urge Ye Han to enroll.
But Ye Han couldn't hold it in any longer and laughed.
At the beginning of the original story, Dai Mubai had also said that someone had graduated and become an elder of Spirit Hall.
But that person never appeared later. Thinking back on it, it had obviously been a lie!
He could fool the natives all he liked, but he wasn't going to fool a transmigrator!
Even Xiong Da would have struggled to keep a straight face!
"What are you laughing at?!"
Flender furrowed his brow.
"I'm laughing at how stupid you are!!"
Ye Han composed himself and retorted without mercy:
"Spirit Hall has nine elders, all with clearly documented identities and backgrounds!"
"So tell me, which one of them is recorded as having graduated from your Shrek Academy?!"
Flender froze, panic rising in his heart.
He looked like a sewer rat caught stealing scraps.
Ye Han gave him no chance to make excuses and continued to tear into him:
"Also, your academy accepted sixty-two students, but only fourteen graduated?"
"What happened to the other forty-eight? Why did they vanish without a trace? Did your academy get them killed?!"
He wasn't saying this just to smear them!
Think about the original story. Shrek's teaching style was utterly irresponsible!
On their first Soul Hunting expedition, they let Tang San absorb a Man Faced Demon Spider!
On their second Soul Hunting expedition, they let Tang San absorb a ten-thousand-year fourth Soul Ring!
Tang San had insisted on it, sure, but they agreed as soon as he asked?
If Tang San hadn't had the protagonist's plot armor, if it had been anyone else, they'd definitely have died!
Xuan Zi of Shrek in Douluo II had inherited that same tradition. Every time he led a group, he got the students into trouble!
"What? You!!"
Flender was instantly enraged.
He was about to speak, but Ye Han immediately continued his tirade:
"Besides, your academy's conduct is beyond rotten!"
"Everyone knows what sort of people your academy turns out!"
'Not daring to cause trouble makes you a mediocrity.' Your students either sleep around or pick fights wherever they go!"
"How could a bunch of irresponsible con artists and hooligans cultivate me into a success? You'd cultivate me backward!"
The entire crowd fell silent.
No one had expected him to dare talk back to Flender!
But when they thought it over, would you believe it? The boy did have a point!
There had long been rumors around town that Shrek Academy's students behaved disgracefully!
"You! How dare you!!"
Flender turned red with rage, trembling as he shouted:
"Let's set the facts aside! I'm a Soul Saint, after all. Am I not qualified to enroll you and teach you?!"
Ye Han stared at him, finally unable to hold back:
"If we're setting the facts aside, then what the hell am I supposed to discuss with you?!"
"You're nothing but a mere Soul Saint. What makes you think you're some great powerhouse?!"
"I'm never joining Shrek Academy! Get lost!!"
The crowd exploded once more.
Even though every word Ye Han said made sense,
the man standing before him was a bona fide Soul Saint!
And he actually dared to insult and defy him like that? He had to be crazy!
"Impudent! Not only have you slandered my academy, you dare insult me like this!"
Flender was so enraged that he completely lost his temper. His eyes were bloodshot, and he was panting like a bull:
"Get on your knees, apologize, and agree to enroll! Otherwise, I'll destroy you at any cost!"
His Four-Eyed Cat Eagle Martial Soul erupted on the spot, and the pressure of a level-seventy-five Soul Saint swept across the area.
The dean and orphans present were so frightened their legs went weak.
Ye Han's body suddenly felt heavy, but he showed no trace of fear or retreat.
He'd dared to stand up to Flender because he had confidence!
He'd chosen a Titled Douluo as his guardian, after all. It was about time she showed up!
And sure enough, at the critical moment,
a sharp cry suddenly rang out from above:
"Do you dare lay a hand on him?!!!"
Everyone instinctively looked up.
Golden holy light poured down from the sky.
A breathtaking golden figure descended amid the holy light.
She was stunning, with flawless, snow-white skin.
Three thousand strands of golden hair tumbled down her back, falling casually to her waist.
Her figure was slender and graceful, perfectly accentuated by an exquisite purple-and-gold dress.
Below it were a pair of impossibly long, jade-white legs. Her outfit was completed by gold-trimmed, sky-high boots.
Only a glimpse of pale skin at the top of her thighs was exposed, an absolute territory—tempting yet sacred.
In her delicate hand she held a Holy Sword, while six radiant golden wings slowly unfurled behind her.
She was beautiful beyond compare, like a Holy Angel descending into the mortal world—someone no one could offend or profane!
The instant Ye Han's eyes fell on her, his heart raced.
He'd seen countless breathtaking beauties, yet his heart had always remained still.
Only this figure before him shattered all his composure.
One glance, and a thousand years!
Ye Han had already recognized the woman before him.
Ye Guyi!!
Her Martial Soul was the Holy Angel!!
Once she reached the Titled Douluo level, it would evolve into the Holy Six-Winged Angel!!
A descendant of the Angel Clan from the Douluo II era, tens of thousands of years in the future!
She must be his Soul Contract guardian. His luck was off the charts!
Ye Guyi's character and values were just as impeccable as her looks—everyone agreed on that!
[Author's Note]:
A quick word from Xiao Ya about the description of Ye Guyi in this chapter.
I described her with six wings, so some of you might point out that I got it wrong because her Martial Soul is the Holy Angel, which doesn't have six wings??
But the original Douluo II clearly says that it evolves into six wings once it reaches the ninth ring, and Ye Guyi did successfully evolve it!
As for why Ye Guyi has only four wings in the illustration above, that's because the anime version of Ye Guyi hasn't become a Titled Douluo yet!
Also, now that she's returned to an era with the Angel God, Ye Guyi's potential should be even greater!!!
The details from the original Douluo II are as follows:
