The Human Race is divided among seven great dynasties; the Great Flame Dynasty is only one of them. Its lands also contain numerous martial powers and aristocratic clans whose interests often conflict with one another 152.

History

Early Border Wars

The Human Race army defended its passes against a Barbarian force joined by the Demon Race and Demonic Beasts. The enemy breached the pass, forcing brutal close-quarters fighting against a numerically superior force 31 32.

Human Race soldiers achieved several hard-fought victories, including the defeat of Barbarian commander Gu Shuo, but sustained heavy losses. Command failures also proved costly: Zhou Xingzhan fled during a canyon ambush while Zhou Xiong sacrificed himself to delay the enemy 44 50.

Northern Liang Crisis

When the Northern Liang Royal Residence colluded with the Blood Race and Demon Race, Human Race factions formed an allied army to seize Northern Liang before the Blood Race could invade directly 360.

The campaign failed after the allied army was trapped in an Evil Formation and driven back by Blood Race and Demon Race reinforcements. News of the defeat and Northern Liang’s fall caused widespread panic among Human Race civilians 362 363.

The Human Race later committed thirteen Divine Repository Realm experts to a full-scale Northern Liang war. After prolonged fighting and the self-sacrifices of Shen and Chen Supreme Elders, the Human Race reclaimed Northern Liang, but lost more than two million people and two Divine Repository Realm elders 371 389.

Invasions and Near Collapse

The Blood Race, Demon Race, Corpse Demon Sect, Evil Cultivators, Barbarians, and Grassland forces exploited the Human Race’s internal instability. A Blood Race Late-Stage Divine Repository Realm titan destroyed the Human Race army at Northern Liang Pass, killing five Divine Repository Realm experts and more than a million soldiers 457 458.

The collapse forced the Imperial Clan to abandon the Imperial City, while common people fled from the advancing foreign armies 458. Later, the Human Race’s main defensive line fell and surviving factions withdrew toward the Profound Heart Sect to establish a new defense 471.

Li Xuancang’s breakthrough to the Dharma Body Realm reversed this immediate decline. He slew the invading Divine Repository Realm experts, causing the Otherworldly Races to withdraw from Human Race territory in fear 476.

Heaven Origin Grotto-Heaven Massacre

A force of more than ten thousand Human Race cultivators traveled to the Black Heaven Domain for the opening of the Heaven Origin Grotto-Heaven. The Demon Race, Blood Race, Barbarians, and Grassland forces encircled them from four directions 506.

Jian Yun used a life-risking strike to create an escape route, but most of the Human Race force was annihilated before it could enter the grotto-heaven. The massacre triggered outrage throughout Human Race territory and led to preparations for retaliation 506 507.

Blood Race War

After the grotto-heaven massacre, Human Race factions debated retaliation but hesitated over confronting all four hostile powers at once. Li Xuancang identified the Blood Race as the greatest threat and infiltrated Blood Race territory with Su Xinghai 508.

Li Xuancang captured Blood Race Dharma Body Realm expert Xue Cangshan alive, forcing the Human Race to prepare for a major war. The Blood Race demanded Li Xuancang’s surrender, but Human Race factions refused 510 511.

The Human Race fought the Blood Race at Northern Liang. Li Xuancang defeated Xue Tu and seven other Dharma Body Realm experts, but was later injured while resisting the Blood God Hall, the Blood Race’s Holy Artifact 514 516.

Abyss Crisis and Migration

When Demonic Beasts and Abyssal forces reached Human Race territory, the Human Race united to establish a defensive line in Great Gan Dynasty territory. After half a month of fighting, Li Xuancang arrived and saved the surrounded leaders, preventing an immediate collapse 527.

The Human Race defeated the Grassland forces and their Abyssal allies, but the continuing expansion of the Abyss made holding Human Race territory impossible. Li Xuancang ordered civilians to migrate into Barbarian territory to buy time for the race’s survival 536 555.

As the Abyss consumed more territory, the Human Race continued retreating through Barbarian lands. Its original territory eventually fell completely, leaving the race with no further room to retreat 559.
