At night, a girl in Little Raccoon pajamas operated the mouse with one hand and rested the other on the keyboard. Then she lifted her left hand, reached for a bag of chips from some brand, and tossed one into her mouth.
"Crunch, crunch, crunch."
This girl was called Xiao... no, Muya. She was a prospective college student who had just finished the college entrance exams.
At that very moment, she was inspecting—playing with—the computer she had only remembered to buy yesterday. Minecraft was displayed prominently on the screen.
Muya was working on a cave because she wanted to live directly inside it, but unfortunately, the cave was uneven and a little too low.
Suddenly, a green block appeared beside her. "What?! A Creeper? I'm done for—I don't have a shield."
"Boom!" A flash of white light burst from the computer. I should've worn sunglasses, Muya thought at the exact moment she vanished.
Then she heard someone call, "Hannah Abbott."
"Hufflepuff."
Applause followed, but Muya only felt utterly confused.
What the heck? It sounded like English. Better listen a little longer.
Muya thought, Come to think of it, I should be able to open my eyes now, right?
Muya opened her eyes. Where had she ended up? The European-style architecture was unmistakable. Uh, what were those things on the ceiling? Wow, and there was a huge crowd around her.
Her gaze shifted ahead. On the stage stood a woman in a green coat and a green pointed hat. A shabby-looking hat sat on a stool, and to her surprise, it actually had a mouth.
Behind her was an old man with white hair and a white beard. Wow, she really had no idea how he had grown his beard that long. Um... Suddenly, he turned his gaze toward Muya, then smiled and winked at her. Old Mischief-Maker—this was her first impression of him.
"Harry Potter," the woman dressed all in green called out.
The hall fell silent for one second. Yes, exactly one second, before hushed discussions erupted everywhere.
Muya's English was not very good, so she could only understand bits and pieces.
Things like "the Boy Who Lived," "so that's him," and "look at his forehead."
A bespectacled boy in black robes stepped forward. He sat on the stool and put on the hat. After a while, the hat spoke.
"Gryffindor!"
One table burst into enthusiastic applause, and the little boy ran over there with a smile.
"We've got Potter!" "We've got Potter!" Two identical-looking boys shouted loudly.
"Mya Mu."
Hmm... It sounded familiar. Muya felt as though she had heard that name somewhere before.
"Mya Mu," the woman on stage called again.
Holy crap, wasn't that her name?! This was not some holographic projection—it was real! So she had transmigrated!
Muya walked forward stiffly, only to suddenly realize that she had turned into a short-legged kid. No, why did transmigration come with shrinking?!
She was still holding a not-very-smooth white wooden stick in her right hand.
After Muya stepped onto the stage, she copied the others and sat down. Still, with groups of foreigners staring at her from below, she felt awkward for no reason. Her toes had already curled on their own.
Suddenly, she felt something placed on her head. Oh my God, it couldn't be that dirty, tattered hat, could it? Luckily, she had not washed her hair for two days. Ha, she was just scaring herself.
"Oh, I can hear what you're thinking, little wizard." It actually spoke Chinese.
"Oh, yes, that's right. In fact, I am a highly knowledgeable hat." Wow, aren't you just amazing.
"Ahem, all right, time for business. Let me see... You have a little courage, but it seems Gryffindor doesn't suit you. You also have a little ambition, but you don't know how to protect yourself wisely, so Slytherin doesn't suit you either. Hmm... You don't like studying, you like lying around, but you are loyal, friendly, and you love good food."
"Hufflepuff!"
The Hufflepuff table erupted into applause, and Muya went over with the flow while that chatterbox hat continued peeking into other people's thoughts.
Muya chose a seat with no one on either side. She took out her wand and started fiddling with it. It was not smooth enough, and it felt uncomfortable in her hand.
Muya was confused. Why were all the little foreigners around her staring at her so curiously? Still, thankfully, no one came over to talk to her.
Speak of the devil: a tall boy sat beside her, his voice so gentle it could make someone pregnant. "Hello, are you from the East?"
Muya stopped fiddling with the wooden stick. Out of politeness, she smiled at him and said, "Hello."
Old Mischief-Maker—ah, no, the white-haired, white-bearded old man who had winked at Muya earlier—stood up and spread his arms. "Welcome!"
"Welcome to Hogwarts! Welcome to the new school year! Before the feast begins, I would like to say a few words. What I would like to say is: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!"
What was that even supposed to mean? Muya wore a look of disgust, which the boy beside her found quite entertaining.
After Old Mischief-Maker sat down, the tables suddenly filled with food. "Wow!"
Muya immediately put down the wooden stick in her hand and turned to ask the boy beside her, "Can we eat all of this?"
"Of course, but you should keep your wand safe. Oh, right, my name is Cedric Diggory." Hmm, he was a sunny, cheerful young man.
"Okay, my name is Mu... Mya Mu." Muya had almost instinctively said it in the Chinese order.
Mya Mu picked up a pudding. "Um, Cedric Diggory, who is the headmaster here?" She thought both Old Mischief-Maker and the woman in green looked somewhat like headmasters.
Cedric froze for a moment, but he still answered Muya's question. "The one sitting in the middle is our headmaster." Oh, so it was Old Mischief-Maker.
"He is the greatest wizard of this century, Albus Dumbledore."
"Oh, thank you, Headmaster Dumbledore." Muya raised her pudding in Dumbledore's direction in a toast.
Cedric found it amusing and introduced the other professors to her. "That is Professor McGonagall. She teaches us Transfiguration. Professor Snape is the youngest Potions Master..."
Muya stuffed a small cake into Cedric's hand. "How about you eat something first?" She was honestly too embarrassed to make someone serve as her encyclopedia during dinner.
"Oh, all right, thank you." Cedric accepted the cake and began eating as well.
Muya also enjoyed the food with a clear conscience. She noticed several ghosts seemingly drifting around the four long tables the whole time. How pitiful—they could not eat any food at all.
As she sighed over it, she picked up another apple pie and took a bite. It was a little hard. It would have tasted even better if it were softer.

My English is not very good, and I do not really understand grammar either, so I used entirely Chinese grammar.
