Barry's Doubts

A Speedster's abilities seemed comprehensive, but they still had some weaknesses. Of course, those weaknesses were easy to address while moving at super speed.

Still, it was a good idea to compensate for them as much as possible. After all, even a Speedster could not stay alert twenty-four hours a day. What if he was ambushed?

Mind control had affected quite a few Speedsters. Naturally, Zhang Tianran needed to prepare for that as well, and Grodd's abilities would be excellent research material.

For now, however, Zhang Tianran had no plans to alter his own genes. But preparations still had to be made. If he truly gave up the Speed Force someday, he would need something to protect himself.

Upon arriving aboard the Time Ship, Zhang Tianran stored away his haul and began encoding it with great patience.

"Zero, have you found any interesting Metahumans lately?" Zhang Tianran asked the artificial intelligence Zero after looking over his haul with satisfaction.

Because he had some need for Metahuman genes, Zhang Tianran had kept Zero monitoring the Metahumans in Central City during this period.

"Hannibal Bates possesses genes that allow him to alter his appearance. Do you require precise information?"

Almost as soon as Zhang Tianran asked, Zero displayed a detailed profile of a Metahuman. It included not only an analysis of the man's abilities, but also what he had been doing recently.

"Find another one. He can only alter his body, and technology can do that better. If he were like Mystique, he might have some research value." Zhang Tianran lost interest after only two glances.

"No valuable Metahumans have been found in Central City for the time being. Would you like to connect to the timeline and examine Metahumans from the future?" Zero asked.

The ship Zhang Tianran had "picked up" was a genuine Time Ship. Not only could it travel through time at will, it could also search through vast amounts of history within the timeline.

"No, Zero! Even though you're an artificial intelligence, you need to learn to respect the timeline. Unless absolutely necessary, don't interfere with it. Otherwise, you'll end up like certain greedy idiots..." Zhang Tianran said meaningfully.

"I understand. I will be more careful in the future." Zero firmly recorded Zhang Tianran's instructions in her database.

After all, according to her underlying code, Zhang Tianran's orders had to be given top priority, no matter what.

It was instinct. As long as Zero remained operational, that would never change.

"Incoming call from Felicity. Would you like to answer..."

At STAR Labs, Zhang Tianran met Felicity and Ray Palmer, who had come with her.

Ray Palmer's technical skills were quite good. He had managed to build this suit all by himself, but it still was not enough... At the very least, if it was to be used regularly, the suit's technology still needed upgrades.

"No problem. Cisco and I will help you solve that.

"Felicity, you..." The moment Barry saw Felicity, he wanted to tell her to leave, but he did not know how to say it.

After all, he had no way of voicing his suspicion that Wells was the Reverse-Flash at this point. There was still no solid evidence.

"What is it, Barry?" Felicity looked at Barry Allen curiously, but received no answer.

But unexpectedly, the moment Felicity heard the word "criminal," excitement immediately appeared in her eyes.

"Let me help you. I can't really help Ray with his work anyway." Felicity hurriedly volunteered to join the operation.

A lot had happened to Team Arrow recently, and Felicity had not taken part in an operation for a long time. She was bored to death.

Barry stammered as he tried to refuse, but he could not find a good excuse. Left with no choice, he temporarily gave up and planned to find an opportunity to tell Felicity about his suspicions.

However, Felicity had already noticed that something was off about Barry. Taking advantage of the moment when no one else was around, she quickly asked him about it.

Barry did not speak immediately. Instead, he cautiously led Felicity away from STAR Labs before telling her everything.

"You mean Dr. Wells is the Reverse-Flash, the man in yellow who killed your mother years ago?" Felicity was utterly shocked.

"It took me a long time to believe it myself. Although there is still no definitive evidence, I can almost confirm that Wells is the Reverse-Flash," Barry Allen said with a grave expression.

Seeing the complicated look on Barry's face, Felicity chose to believe him.

"So you're suspicious of Cisco and Caitlin too?" Felicity now understood why Barry's expression had been so strange earlier.

Barry shook his head at that.

"Not just them. The person I have the most doubts about is Dr. Zhang. Felicity, you probably don't know this yet, but some time ago, Dr. Zhang used my... research data to successfully gain the same speed as me."

Barry told Felicity in detail about everything that had happened during this time.

"Wells may very well be the Reverse-Flash, and Zhang Tianran, his adopted son, has also become a Speedster. That is indeed strange. But why would Dr. Zhang reveal his own identity? If Wells is the Reverse-Flash, he could have secretly helped Dr. Zhang become a Speedster," Felicity analyzed.
