Barry's Suspicion

A Speedster's abilities seemed comprehensive, but they still had weaknesses. Of course, those weaknesses were easy to deal with while moving at super speed.

Still, it was a good choice to make up for them as much as possible. After all, even a Speedster couldn't stay alert twenty-four hours a day. What if he got ambushed?

Mind control had taken down quite a few Speedsters. Naturally, Zhang Tianran needed to prepare for it as well, and Grodd's abilities would make for excellent research material.

For now, though, Zhang Tianran had no plans to alter his own genes. But preparations still had to be made. If he truly gave up the Speed Force, he'd need something to protect himself.

Once inside the time ship, Zhang Tianran put away his acquisitions and began coding with great patience.

"Zero, have you discovered any interesting metahumans lately?" Zhang Tianran asked the AI, Zero, after giving his haul a satisfied look.

Since he had some need for metahuman genes, Zhang Tianran had Zero monitor metahumans throughout Central City during this period.

"Hannibal Bates possesses genes capable of changing his appearance. Would you like me to provide detailed information?"

Almost the instant Zhang Tianran asked, Zero displayed a detailed profile of a metahuman. It included not only an analysis of his abilities, but also everything he had been doing recently.

"Pick another one. It's just simple bodily alteration—technology can do that better. If it were someone like Mystique, there might be some research value." Zhang Tianran lost interest after only two glances.

"No valuable metahumans have been found in Central City for now. Would you like to connect to the timeline and examine future metahumans?" Zero asked.

The ship Zhang Tianran had "picked up" was a genuine time ship. Not only could it travel freely through time, it could also search through vast amounts of history within the timeline.

"No, Zero. Even though you're an artificial intelligence, you need to learn to respect the timeline. Unless it's absolutely necessary, don't interfere with it. Otherwise, you'll end up like certain greedy idiots..." Zhang Tianran said meaningfully.

"I understand. I'll be more careful in the future." Zero firmly recorded Zhang Tianran's instruction in its database.

After all, according to its core programming, Zhang Tianran's orders had to be executed with the highest priority, no matter what.

It was instinct. As long as Zero remained operational, that would never change.

"Incoming call from Felicity. Would you like to answer..."

At S.T.A.R. Labs, Zhang Tianran met Felicity and Ray Palmer, who had come with her.

Come to think of it, aside from the Speed Force, the most useful thing Zhang Tianran had obtained was probably the shrinking technology he had gotten from Ray Palmer.

It had to be said that some things became incredibly convenient once they were shrunk.

"You two are officially dating?" Zhang Tianran asked curiously. Though he had known about it for a long time, he still asked.

"Of course. Felicity and I have been together for a while now." Ray Palmer put an arm around Felicity as if declaring his claim.

"Yeah, you suit each other." Zhang Tianran brushed it off casually. Knowing that the two of them would eventually break up made him feel a little strange.

"Uh... Ray and I came here this time hoping to get some help from you." Felicity hurriedly changed the subject.

"Yeah, there are some issues with my suit. When it uses energy, it..." Ray Palmer said directly.

Ray Palmer's technical skills were quite good. He had managed to build this kind of suit all by himself, but it still wasn't enough... At the very least, if it was to be used regularly, the Quantum Suit's technology needed further upgrades.

"No problem. Cisco and I will help you solve that.

In fact, I've already got plenty of ideas." Zhang Tianran agreed without hesitation. He hadn't felt guilty when he stole the shrinking technology from Palmer Technologies, but he was more than willing to do Ray Palmer a small favor.

Just as Zhang Tianran, Ray Palmer, and Cisco went off to study the Quantum Suit together, Barry Allen rushed back the moment he heard Felicity had arrived.

"Felicity, you..." The instant Barry saw Felicity, he wanted to tell her to leave, but he didn't know how to say it.

After all, there was no way he could tell her about his suspicion that Wells was Reverse-Flash. He didn't have solid evidence yet.

"What's wrong, Barry?" Felicity looked at Barry Allen strangely, but received no answer.

"Uh, nothing. There's a criminal in Central City who's controlling bees lately." Barry could only come up with a random excuse.

But to his surprise, the moment Felicity heard the word criminal, excitement immediately appeared in her eyes.

"Let me help you guys. I can't really help Ray over there anyway." Felicity quickly volunteered to join the operation.

A lot had happened to Team Arrow recently, and Felicity hadn't participated in an operation for a long time. She was bored to death.

Barry stammered as he tried to refuse, but he couldn't find a good excuse. Helplessly, he could only give up for now and planned to find an opportunity to tell Felicity about his suspicions.

But Felicity had already noticed Barry's unusual behavior. When no one was around, she quickly asked him about it.

Barry didn't speak immediately. Instead, he cautiously led Felicity away from S.T.A.R. Labs before telling her everything.

"You mean Dr. Wells is Reverse-Flash? The man in yellow who killed your mother years ago?" Felicity was deeply shocked.

"It took me a long time to believe it too. Although there isn't definitive evidence yet, I can almost confirm that Wells is Reverse-Flash." Barry Allen spoke with a serious expression.

Seeing the complicated look on Barry's face, Felicity chose to believe him.

"So you're suspicious of Cisco and Caitlin too?" Felicity now understood why Barry had looked so strange earlier.

Barry shook his head at that.

"Not just them. The person I'm most uncertain about is Dr. Zhang. Felicity, you probably don't know this yet, but some time ago, Dr. Zhang used my... research data to successfully gain the same speed as me."

Barry told Felicity in detail about everything that had happened during this time.

"Wells might be Reverse-Flash, and Zhang Tianran, his adopted son, became a Speedster too. It really is strange, but why would Dr. Zhang reveal his identity? If Wells is Reverse-Flash, he could have secretly helped Dr. Zhang become a Speedster." Felicity analyzed.

"That's what I'm hesitating over too. I don't know whether I should choose to trust Dr. Zhang."
