On the training ground, the three girls stood in a circle, panting.
With Mirai going easy on them, however, Konan had two bells clutched in her hand, her expression shifting from excitement to indecision.
"I got them!" Konan opened her hand, the two silver bells swaying in her palm. "Mirai, I got them!"
"Yeah, I saw." Mirai leaned against a tree at the edge of the training ground with his arms folded, a faint smile on his lips.
"But there are only two bells and three of you. How are you going to divide them?"
Konan froze for a moment. She looked down at the bells in her palm, then up at Kurenai and Rin beside her.
Kurenai's sweat-soaked hair clung to her forehead, and she was still catching her breath with her hands on her hips.
Rin had dropped a kunai on the ground and was bending down to pick it up.
The three girls looked at one another.
Konan bit her lip, then held the bells out to Kurenai and Rin.
"You two take them. All I'll have to do is skip lunch anyway. I'm... not hungry yet."
Kurenai raised her head and glanced at her, but didn't take them. "No. You got them, Konan. They should be yours."
"That's right. You did the most out of the three of us." Rin straightened up and put her kunai away. "Keep the bells."
"But neither of you has had lunch either!"
"It's our own fault we didn't get them." Kurenai pursed her lips. "You and Rin take them! I've been trying to lose weight anyway."
"No, you two take them!"
"You take them!"
"You two take them!"
As the three kept trying to push the bells on one another, they jingled in Konan's palm.
Watching them, Mirai's smile grew
